In 1986, Larry Bird won the regular season MVP, Finals MVP, finished with a home record of 50-1, was the AP Athlete of the Year across all sports, and in the finals, had what he called “the best game I ever played” on the best team ever; the 1986 Boston Celtics. It really gets no better than that.

  1. I would say the 85 86 Celtics team i would say the second best team ever. I would say the beautiful game series 2014 spurs team was better. Won title in 5 games against the heat. LeBron, Wade Bosh and Allan. That spurs team showed how basketball as a team sport was ment to be played. My opinion.

  2. If I'm wrong test my assumptions out Organize a strike and say only way another ball drops through the Net again professionally is if all owners get on there hands and knees, worship and burn incense to the Basketball God's and confess the Name of the Lord openly accepting in there hearts that Kobe is God's chosen messenger❤❤❤😂😂😂 I bet they'll get on hands and knees confessing Koby is Lord Before you have to get on hands and knees confessing Hitler is Lord. And if they have anything to say that's anti semitic you could lose everything going against Jews, being that your new converts and with the King of Jews Baby JESUS your protected from anti semitic laws they can't even so much as criticize you once you open confess Kobe Lord of the gym and because of the book of Esther and Mordecai your all converts . Influence like that every kid in America is gonna convert to Jew once they find out their heroes did. I know I would. I confessed I believed in Mary Mother of Jesus when I found out Jlo was a Catholic and behold the Catholic Church Already made it's comeback in Fresno the rest of the world is Barely finding out

  3. It's elementary think they want me with Jlo and generating all that electricity around the Catholic Church when they worked to put their light out now that the Nazis are dead and don't need to hide anymore. Too late a spark of electricity is all it took and the Church ran with it, I'm so very proud with what they've done without their two Super Star Husband and Wife Catholics together , It's because we're not done cleaning house and they had us all fooled to the mystery can pulled up and peeled the mask off these wanna be monsters

  4. This needs to be a part of the Fever's post-game videos. Not that Slow Coach White wants the Fever Ladies to know that they can determine the outcome of the game, irrespective of White's "slow motion offense"

  5. Most people probably don't know this, but Bird writes with his left hand! So he was somewhat ambidextrous since childhood. And of course, he did things with the basketball that nobody else had ever did before or have ever done since!!!

  6. I you told me to pick any player to start franchise with and you get a healthy ten year run of their best basketball – it’s Larry Bird – nobody else gives me the all-around advantages in size, skill, shooting, rebounding, passing, basketball IQ, clutch gene…a 6’11”guy who could excel playing free safety within today’s defensive rules and be a disruptive force, all over in the passing lanes and on the boards, starting the break with his legendary outlet passing. It’s not even close.

Who can give your team more in EVERY ASPECT than what he gave in his absolute peak? Magic might get you close, but he ultimately falls short. MJ doesn’t give you the size, shooting, rebounding, or passing. LeBron is right there, but he’s just not quite as good as Larry’s peak – he might be the closest. Duncan gives you so much of that size you get from Bird, but he just wasn’t anywhere near as skilled, creative, or versatile.

Who you got over The Legend?

  7. So Boston journalists say it's the best team ever. You know what? They might have been. Even Jordan said he wasn't sure if his great teams could beat them. But to establish credibility interview someone who isn't a Boston homer

  8. The guy in 2025 need to watch this team play defense! Everybodys moving. Not 4 guys standing around one guy chucking up 3's

  9. If this was a Walton interview it would be 43 seconds long. I hate Walton. He can’t talk about the things he did because it wasn’t much.

  10. I saw Barkley in an interview where he said he did realize how big Larry Bird and Kevin McHale were until he got into the NBA. He would often get matched up with McHale and sometimes Bird and they so tall, quick, knew how to their spots. He said McHale was the best PF he ever faced because of, not just his height, but long arms and great foot work.

  11. I was 19 in 79 when they went to the final game against magic Johnson! Watched him as i grew up he was a great leader and role model.

  12. my favorite is all these reaction videos, I'm 63 so i grew up watching LB but watching these young people seeing bird play and hearing the trash talk for the 1st time is priceless, they've never seen a player that cold blooded, yes bird was very skilled no doubt but the man had ice water running through his vaines

  13. yes larry can't jump but he can block you from the ground, larry is not slow for god sake, for a 6'10ish forward, he is even quicker than elton brand, karl malone etc..

  14. Jordan needed a team of NBA all stars to win! Bird took a very good Celtics team to three titles! Anyone else think Jordan's status may not be as secure as we may have thought? I saw another video showing Bird beat all the NBA super-stars in terms of win ratio over them i.e Bird Vs Jordan, Bird Vs Magic!

  15. Every time I think I've heard every Bird/'86 Celtics story angle, someone posts a new cut and perspective. Great video.

  16. I don't watch the NBA any longer. I was a young man during the 80's, it was the golden era. Today's game isn't enjoyable, no defense, traveling and carrying are allowed. Everyone shoots 3's. Used to be an inside out game with picks and screens. Now its just unwatchable for me.

  17. Just the fact Jordan HIMSELF essentially took the 86 celtics to overtime in the playoffs that year just shows his greatness. He kept those games close with no help and he was going against what 4 hall of famers?

  18. Bill Walton was a great player, but he was kinda weird. The Grateful Dead?? They weren't such a great band. But i followed the Bruins when he was a college star and i had high hopes for his professional career. His injuries also brought ME down!! I learned then that the bigger guys tend to have more injuries. Sad, but true. (Et al: André the Giant!)
