I’m ready for Rockets season to start. These Texans and Astros blues have to go. I have my sunglasses 😎 on and blowing my harmonica.
We really are gambling on Reed's development. Lol
They should have answered the guards situation during the off season. After trading Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks.
It's a gamble he was the 3rd pick. Being the backupg for a literal top 3 pick should be a very easy bar.
If Reed can't be a solid backup rotation point guard then we have really low expectations. That should be an easy level for him to reach in year 2, especially being a top 3 pick.
more like the y factor. bro can put 20 up but whoever hes guarding gonna give him buckets. he's the worst small guard in the nba. they gonna trade him
The Rockets are championship contenders. Sheppard was a complete liability on both ends in his first season.
For roster construction purposes for the upcoming season, the Rockets should not simply assume a massive jump from Sheppard, going from unplayable to impactful. Not realistic.
If Sheppard brings something to the team in his second season, great! But don't count on it.
Considering the team is competing for a championship right now, if Sheppard continues to be a liability on the floor, trade him when the next trade window opens.
Watching this after the Astros and Texans absolutely shit the bed. Rockets please for the love of God don’t disappoint me.
What do you think of surrounding Alp with shooters? Not impact Amens minutes but having Alp, Jabbari, KD, DFS and FVV played together?
We drafted a pure shooter w/good instincts. We have the D and length to cover his size, but he needs to be able to execute pnr on this team or use him as a 2 and give it up/spot up.
We can get into our offense in several ways and it's clear the scouting report was make him put it on the floor.
Ok, let me make it clear that I'm not a Wemby hater, but I do think he will be/is injury prone. If he gets injured this year and Amen doesn't then Amen has a shot at DPY. Tari is likely to lose minutes, DFS is going to get minutes. I am not worried about Sheppard, he was a rookie! The most telling thing, even if it's low volume, are his numbers as a starter. He is going to be fine when give more minutes where he can get a feel for the game. Unlike Jackson, I do think Sengun will get a lot of time at the 4. But it is contingent on his off-season growth being legit. Fred is absolutely Cap.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
John 3:16
Jesus loves you!
I agree that it's too early to think of trade candidates in case Sheppard is, again, a liability this upcoming season… but it's the offseason and we need something to talk about! So let me throw a couple of not-too-unrealistic guard names and numbers out there (considering Sheppard's $10.6M contract for this season):
– Ayo Dosunmu: $7.5M x 1yr.
– Coby White: $12.9M x 1yr.
– Dennis Schroeder: $14M x 2yrs + 1yr partially guaranteed $4.4M.
I believe the reason we are playing zone during the double big lineup minutes with Adams and Sengun is to hide Adam's slow movement speed and make him a rim protector while benefiting from the offensive rebounding. Sengun is the only reason we are able to do that because of the defensive versatility he developed. With Capella, I can see teams exploiting the zone defense so I do not think we will see that version of the double bigs unless we have to, God forbid, like when an injury happens.
