  1. You need to understand that this is going to be a revolution. It’s not going to look like anything you’re used to.

This will be a true collective playing at a furious pace with lots of emphasis on offensive rebounding so they can afford to miss shots, which is a calculated consequence of playing ultra fast.

Tuomas knows exactly what he needs from the players so hopefully everyone not suited to this system has been weeded out now.
Everyone needs to be able to make ultra fast instinctive decisions as the system is partly about overwhelming other teams with sheer intensity.
There wont be traditional starting fives and because of the furious pace, players will only play for short bursts at a time so there will be a lot of players in the rotation. It’s about the team being more than the sum of its parts. As long as people fit the system, they don’t necessarily need to be individually brilliant.
It’s not so much about set plays as it is getting people accustomed to playing fast and making instinctive decisions. There will be a lot of murder ball drills in training camp and I’m sure Tuomas has given the players plenty of homework to prepare them for his system as it’s not something you master in just a few weeks.

The players already bought in last season and trust Tuomas because he’s just that guy, and people feel it.
He’s a genius and understands people and psychology as well as the basketball itself and he leaves nothing to chance. The whole organization will get a lift from just being around him and his relentless work ethic.

  2. Ja's availability is the most important factor in a successful season for the Grizzlies. Go Grizzlies!
