I am not a salary cap expert. but I think the reason they are not extending hi is that he is limited in how much he can be extended for and the jazz plan on paying him more than that. plus the money it would take to get him away from the jazz may be a sizeable shunk. I hear 30m a year.. but this means another year of teams scaving the jazz roster with this content 🙂 but I do think he will be on the jazz by his choice
I think Kessler is worth four and 100M.
Kuminga should also ask for the extension, that way the warriors would have to go into training camp with only 9 guys.

Everything I've heard from the local media, is that Kessler wants a lot more than what the Jazz are offering. Something like $30m per vs the Jazz being closer to $20m per and neither party is budging.

It is surprising. Pretty much means the Jazz are admitting they're more open to trading Kessler than what's been recently reported.
The jazz want to trade him, but they are greedy. Teams are not paying 2 first round picks that are unprotected AND going him 25 million a year. They will be lucky to get an unprotected first and 2 seconds
