“So Jimmy Butler is actually holding a team function, a team minicamp, in San Diego this week. This is the first full year of Stephen Curry, Draymond, Jimmy Butler all together. One player that is not there, the only player on the potential Warriors’ roster that isn’t there, is the restricted free agent, Jonathan Kuminga. My understanding is he is not appearing at this team function, this camaraderie minicamp in San Diego. This is still at a stalemate. … [and] Jonathan Kuminga did not appear at the first kind of team-related event the Warriors players had today.”
Warriors Insider Tim Kawakami:
“The only significant rules development from Oct. 2 on is that, barring an agreement to push back the deadline, the Warriors would retain Kuminga’s restricted-free-agent rights but wouldn’t be committed to the $7.9 million offer. They could offer him less or nothing and retain his RFA rights. They could also continue to offer him the same or more. It’d be their choice from then on.”

“I get to be better on the basketball court because of this, I mean it. Now hear me out: I like to play so many different sports to train for whatever upcoming season. This is another one. So I would like to say that my biggest investment is I kind of get to get better at basketball throughout this entire thing for myself. Hand-eye coordination, reflexes, being able to pivot when a ball comes off the wall. All the movement. All the conditioning you do. Seeing these guys work up a sweat, it’s super incredible. I don’t know if I have it in me to do it for that many straight sets, I won’t lie to you. But it looks exhausting and it can definitely help on a basketball floor, I promise you Yeah, of course. I’m not going super hard. I don’t know the ins and outs of the game like these pros that I get the opportunity to be around. Yes, I do play, but I’m not going all out. I’m not trying to hit the ball out of the arena. I’m not trying to run outside and hit it back in. But I do like to pretend I’m a pro. I would like to think that sometime soon, I’m going to be ranked No. 1 in the world”

Warriors management better not reward Aaron Turner's circus social media moves with a better offer for Kuminga. This would set precedent for ugly negotiations in the league.

I pray he signs that QO so I don’t have to hear about him anymore. Bury him in the deepest corner of the bench for the year since he doesn’t want to be there anyway, whoever wants to pay him next year can do that. He doesn’t understand this might be the best situation he’ll probably ever get in the NBA, anybody who wants to sign him and take a chance on an unproven project is a probably a losing organization and none of the winning teams are going to pay him more than what the Warriors offered. Just sign the QO and get off the team next year at this point

Kuminga can and maybe should drag this out and extend the QO deadline to keep Al Horford in a limbo for longer.
He hasn't taken it because he wants to see if the Warriors give in on that player option in the third year. Qualifying offer can wait until the afternoon of October 1st.
