I think the Mavericks are lying about AD. I am dealing with an eye injury now and I know for a fact that a detached retina is extremely serious. It is so serious that once it happens you have to immediately go into surgery between 1-3 days. The sooner the better actually. This idea that he played with a detached retina is nonsense.

Luka for nothing
The problem is the Mavs gave up their #1. Now they have two #2's and no #1 on the team. People in Dallas are going to learn it the hard way, over and over. When playoff games get tight, its going to be exceptionally hard to deal with without a true #1 that is unaffected by the pressure of that situation.
The Mavericks are so lopsided that this season could go very well or very badly.
One thing is for sure, the Mavericks better win now or they wont for a long long time. After what they did to Luka and how they crapped on Luka afterwards, it is going to be very hard to attract top talent going forward. Kyrie had to resign because he had a major injury.

I am an doctor…. Optometrist in real life. Tbh the abductor injury is more concerning. The retina injury / recovery just requires more of a conservative approach where strenuous activities is not recommended for months. So this matches what AD has gone through.
I have a firm take on the Mavs, Isaac. Not everything will go optimal 4 them, it never does…if it goes reasonably well, the 5th or 6th seed is possible. The West is just to stacked. Expect more from SA and NO this year compared from the next too.

I think you guys are downplaying the struggles this team might face. They are one of the biggest teams in the league, which is a positive in some ways. But they may be the worst 3 point shooting team in the league. AD playing the 4 with PJ at the 3 has a ton of offensive questions. They have 2 injury prone stars, one missing half of the season, and a rookie star who is going to have to learn to play secondary to those guys. They have 0, I mean 0 guard and small wing defense. They can have the best interior defense in the league but that may not matter if they’re consistently giving up blow-by’s like we saw last season.

Unsurprisingly, you didn't talk about Davis' 14th ranking in ESPN which coincidentally, is similar to the Locked On ranking.
You dedicated two separate episodes for Cooper when his ESPN and Locked On ratings came out, then did an episode for Davis when his ranking came out with Locked On. For the Davis episode, you argued for AD as the 10th best player; going 9th above is totally laughable it loses your credibility so 10th is the most you can stretch for.
Davis' ranking 14th in two separate surveys from different audiences/segments just shatters your gaslighting that Davis is top 10 player in the league, when we all know for the fact that he isn't and will never be better than he is now given that he is 32, injury-prone, and at the tail-end of his prime.
I mentioned that last part since in another episode (I watch most of your episodes btw) you mentioned that AD is not on that level yet (meaning you can't just hand him the ball and count on him to generate offense) implying that he can turn into that player at this stage. You just have to accept that Dallas' strengths are size, depth, and defense, but the team does not have a singular superstar that can carry the team to the playoffs, especially on the West.

I know Mavs fans are tired of hearing stuff like this, but AD needs to lose weight. I guaran-fckn-tee he would be way less injury prone, if he were back to the weight that he was when he won the championship.
I wish AD the best but the two injuries that we know about since he got here are both very concerning. The Adductor Strain can be a recurring injury as it is caused by extreme usage which b''ball is all the time. A detached retina is recommended to be repaired immediately so the story that he suffered this during the season which led to offseason surgery is either medical malpractice or the Mavs are hiding something.
This conclusions are largely the result of the Mavs front office communications being so poor. Nico needs help.

#1 thing we need to know, a honest update on each players health. Is AD going to start the first game? Is Liv 100% healthy? Will he start the first game? These 2 need to start first game of the season. For Irving we definitely should not expect him to try to play until at best mid January.
