NBA Insider Sam Amick On Jonathan Kuminga Trade Rumors:
āAccording to team sources, thereās still another scenario in play here: A sign-and-trade deal with the Sacramento Kings. While the two teams went more than a month without discussing the matter during the later part of the summer, team sources said the talks between the two sides were renewed earlier this week. And while no significant progress was made in the talks, itās quite notable that the Kings ā who have offered veteran guard Malik Monk and a lottery-protected, 2030 first-round pick for the chance to give Kuminga a three-year, $63 million deal ā arenāt giving up on the prospect of bringing him to Sacramento this season. Several obstacles to a deal remain, most notably the fact that the Warriorsā interest in Monk appears to be quite muted. His contract is the primary issue, as he has a player option for the 2027-28 season worth $21.5 million that does not fit with the Warriorsā future flexibility plans. There are concerns about his fit on the team as well. If they did take him on, team sources said itās likely Golden State would look to trade him elsewhere. The problem with that path, however, is that thereās no clarity as to whether that would be possible anytime soonā

for me its a āDā. Unless it would be JK for Malik Monk with Picks. If not the warriors should consider getting a SF or PF for JK. Well letās face it come Monday, if JK does not accept the contract that the warriors is offering it would still be late for this team to be complete, 9 players approaching training camp, I think players in the G-League could help in filling-in the roster and another waste for Stephās playing years, early exit again for Golden State this NBA season.
Monk isnāt going to happen due to his player option, they could another player for a 3 team deal? Or give JK his player option

Terrible trade the Dubs already declined. Murray is a perfect fit. But Kings won't do it unless they get a Bane haul which would be ridiculous. Ellis would be a nice get but another guard makes no sense without a roster change. Also tell me how many wins above zero JK is worth the first 25 games. Would the plus/minus be .5?
The Kings are trying to get younger as a team. They want Kuminga to join Murray and Ellis as the core of their future.
