And people were upset when Thibs was fired. I trust Mike Brown, 4x champ.
Sorry for your loss
Martin was a G, I never met him or don't know him but if Troy stops to shout you out …,YOU A REAL 1β€
That's what some of us fans were telling Thibs to do when it came to KAT. Rather than having him parked on the perimeter launching 3s, I pointed out that he could be used in a variety of ways such as:
1.-Standing in the high post / mid range area and passing back to the center at the rim or passing out to guys on the perimeter
2.-Passing from the perimeter to guys who are cutting to the rim or guys that are at the basket.
3.-Getting off shots from behind a screener before defenders can get around that guy and interfere with the shot.
4.-Passing faster out of double teams
5.-Catching the ball while cutting to the rim for easy passes on the run in order to avoid knocking guys down as he was doing last year and having to spend countless minutes on the bench in foul trouble.
6.-Ally oops
7.-Pick n' rolls
8.-Passing from the block into the post to guys cutting to the rim behind the person defending him.
9.-Setting up other guys to catch ally oops or finish on pick n' rolls
10.-Moving well without the ball
I agree…this would increase the scoring of OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges and others. Not only that, it would increase trips to the line for KAT and others.
Rip Martin ππ»
RIP Martin! π§‘π
Constant player movement is great. Why? That will tire out opposing defenders and leave them with less energy to score. Also it will lead to more trips to the line for the Knicks' players and more open baskets.
Rather than standing still or playing slower, which makes it easier for opposing defenders to cover guys, this coach appears willing to have players: move well without the ball, pass faster out of double teams, pass faster in general, get out in transition (to get to the other basket before opposing defenders can set up), cut to the basket for easy passes on the run and create more fastbreak opportunities rather than jogging back. This is going to be a great year.
Rest in peace, Martin ππΌππΌππΌ
Thank god we ainβt talking about Giannis rumors now we can focus on this Knicks team
Brunson
Bridges
OG
KAT
Robinson
Do you think with this starting line up, the knicks can play fast like Brown wants?
I'm saddened to hear about Martin who passed away before getting to see the Knicks possibly competing for a championship or actually winning one. Best wishes to his family and his friends during their time of sorrow. I can relate because my father passed away 5 years ago and was also a huge Knicks fan. He's part of the reason I became one and why I know so much about them. He wasn't around to see Julius Randle, Jalen Brunson, KAT and others take the Knicks to higher levels.
So I can definitely sympathize with and relate to Martin's family and what they're going through. Condolences to you for your loss as well. Hopefully we can win one for all of those who are unable to see this team's transformation.
This is one of the best teams the Knicks have ever had from the starting lineup to the bench since the legend Walt Clyde Frazier was lacing it up. This should be our year. But we shouldn't take anyone for granted. Last year, Indiana and Detroit came out of nowhere to challenge us. So no team or game should be overlooked. Personally, I think we have a shot against the OKC Thunder especially if Mike Brown fixes some of the team's issues (as he seems to be doing)…but I don't want to be overconfident. You have to get past the guards to get to the throne. There are still some tough teams out there and quite a few players changed teams. This team can take anyone. However they have to believe it, internalize it and grab the mantle.
If we're moving like this, OG, Bridges, Duece, Hart, and Clarkson are going to capitalize like no yesterday. It's definitely their playing style.
They better be defensively sound
Are we suggesting that Mchale Bridges is going is to be the ball handler and playmaker ? I hope they're not planning on taking away brunson's penetration ability ?
Rest in Peace to Martin, and condolences to his family. Once a Knick, always a Knick!
So kind
Using your players to their max potential is definitely a winning strategy.
Hell na, KAT shooting MORE 3's? π€¦πΏββοΈ now he really gonna be chucking that h*e up, shooting more 3's will make us Boston or GSW, when the 3 not falling for them they are dirt π© trash, JT & Brown can go inside, post up & all that but they too addicted to shooting 3's, they lost to us because of that lol. I like the pace though & off ball stuff. I always felt the Knicks should have a backup PG & have Jalen play off ball & play with pace, I want us to be top 5 in pace this year.
RIP Martin, we appreciate you. RIP to your father as well. I know what that's like man at a young age.
Lol coach watched "Coach Carter" the night before.
R.I.P Martin man ππΎπ«‘
