Lakers have been interested in Walker Kessler for years now and once again Lakers News has them linked. Lakers Trade for Kessler would come at a hefty price tag currently. The Utah Jazz want Austin Reaves and multiple firsts to land Kessler to Lakers Nation.

The Lakers haven't two first picks to send because they only have the 2031 first round pick to trade. They can only package swaps for 2026, 2028, 2030 and/or 2032 first round picks (you cannot trade two consecutive first round picks in the CBA !!).
Kessler and Ayton can make up for our lack of wing defense. Ayton was ranked #2 in perimeter isolation defense last year and Kessler was ranked #4 among centers.. Not trading AR and picks for Kessler though, that's hilariously Krazy🤣

As a lakers fan from Chicago who had to watch lauri for years. Every season he’d come in and disappoint Chicago on the defensive end. And that was at the 4 (his natural position. Now we’re talking about pairing him with one of the worst defenders in basketball in Luka donfic and a center who is also not a great defender in ayton. Luka needs athletic 2 WAY wings next to him only
Kessler would immediately make him the starting center if he was acquired! Ayton isn't the same player and has issues with giving you 100% effort. Kessler is also a lob threat + a better defender and shot blocker than ayton. Lakers don't need their center to be an active scorer. Kessler can rebound way better than Ayton as well. He provides everything that the lakers need from a center. Ayton is just a better offensive player but that's it and lakers don't need extra offense. But I agree the asking price for Kessler is INSANE!!
