The Orlando Magic’s players shone bright at EuroBasket, showing something that they can each bring back to the NBA when the season begins in two weeks.
Franz Wagner’s final was a disappointment at first blush because of how uninvolved he was in the second half. But taking that step back also displayed that he understood what he needs to do to win and how he can help his team win. That is actually surprising maturity for a player in a pressure situation.
That will be valuable for him as the Magic pursue a playoff spot.

Goga Bitadze reminds me of Marcin Gortat back in the day.
When you've got a guy who's run the national team for over a decade, with as much success as schroder sustained, it's very difficult to pass that torch. We've seen Franz lead Germany in scoring for 2 straight tournaments now. I was really hoping this 2nd half would be that moment we've been waiting for. To be fair, Germany didn't have this success until Franz was on the roster. Sad to see Schroder wave off Franz on that last poss… but Franz has to be more aggressive. 2027 will be HIS tournament.
Basketball is a team sport. You want to Franz to dominate? Who was the most dominant player in the finals? Sengün. Oh wait, his team lost. Germany won BECAUSE Franz has the abbility to not shine every second.

This guy doesn't understand winning, basketball is a team sport, he wants Franz to become Paolo like, that type of basketball no longer wins championships in the NBA, Phil should be advocating for Paolo to be more like Franz rather than the other way around
