San Antonio Spurs 2025-26 Season Preview & Predictions

The San Antonio Spurs enter the 2025-26 season with real momentum. Victor Wembanyama, De’Aaron Fox, and Devin Vassell form a legit three-man core, and with Mitch Johnson stepping in as head coach, the system is shifting toward heavy Fox–Wemby pick-and-rolls while letting rookies Stephon Castle, Dylan Harper, and Carter Bryant develop into winning roles.

Last season, San Antonio finished 34-48, but lineups with Wemby, Vassell, and a true point guard showed clear upside. This summer, the Spurs doubled down: trading for Fox, adding Kelly Olynyk and Luke Kornet for depth, and drafting Harper and Bryant to bolster the backcourt and wings. With Fox extended and Wemby healthier after a cautious offseason, the Spurs look ready to push into the playoff picture.

Strengths: Fox–Wemby P&R, rim protection, improved guard depth, and Vassell’s shooting.
Weaknesses: rookie mistakes, rebounding when Wemby sits, health concerns for Fox and Wemby.

Projection: 45-37. Best case: close to 50 wins if the Fox–Wemby duo clicks fast. Worst case: hovering around .500 if health and youth issues flare up. Either way, San Antonio looks poised for a leap.
