2019 Philadelphia 76ers | Forgotten NBA Teams

Recently we talked about Ben Simmons and the state of his career. And while creating that video we got reminded of the 2019 Philadelphia 76ers. A team that went all in on two mid season and trades , but would suffer one of the most heartbreaking losses in NBA history.

  1. As a FORMER Sixers fan, I couldn’t support anymore after the fallout of this team. Such a failed organization. Any new teams taking free agent fans? 😂

  2. It's honestly so crazy that the 76ers signed Tobias Harris over Jimmy Butler even with all of Jimmy's uncertainties with management. I think if the 76ers did bring back Jimmy it probably was going to be on a slightly smaller deal considering what they paid Ben Simmons in that off season, but if they just changed coaches and let Harris walk, the 76ers definitely would've made at least one conference finals.

  3. I honestly hate the narrative this team has around the Kahwi buzzer beater. They act as if they had won, but then Kawhi made the 3. They were tied, so there is literally no purpose in speculating who would win in OT.

  4. 7:42 Jared Dudley turned out to be right. Later on.
9:43 Embiid's an asshole for that. Jarrett Allen did nothing to deserve that.

If the Sixers had kept Jimmy, they would've had to move Simmons eventually since that trio was a bad fit and Jimmy's presence did not motivate Ben enough to improve. However, I'm not sure that an Embiid–Jimmy duo would've resulted in a title given the issues with Jimmy that still exist to this day.

  5. Being a Canadian and a Raptors fan I was happy we won the chip that year, but I was actually rooting for this team😂😂

  6. For me this team is a bit overrated. The way people talked about them, 'a Kawhi shot away from the Finals', as if they were leading the game. It was still a tie game and there's no guarantee they would have won in overtime.

Not to talk about the fact that there's no guarantee they go past the Bucks or the Warriors (even with the KD injury).

Only reason they are so talked about is that the 76ers are such a cursed franchise and so cling onto any success they have, no matter how little.

  7. In all honesty, if the shot didn't go off then….we'll probably be seeing Golden State get there fourth championship sooner, because how the Raptors beat them was nothing short of a miracle. At the very least Joel Embiid would probably not have "onlt MVP to have never gone to conferences finals" allegations put on him.

  8. Raptors fan here. One of my favourite season. Not only because of chip and dip. Buut watching the 76ers cry. Was just a cheery on top. It’s my brothers city…… lol lots of Canadians abandoned torontro teams.

  9. As a Chicago native, I would love to see a video in this series on the 2016-17 Bulls (Rondo, D-Wade and Jimmy). Dysfunctional would be an understatement for this group. Uggghh I still remember clinching the 8th seed on the last day of the regular season then going up 2-0 on the Celtics.

  10. Ngl, The 19' Sixers were strong, But ngl… They got zapped losing to The Raptors.. And I don't think that they mentally could recover from it…

  11. All they had to do after was not pay Harris. Jimmey would have called out Ben before he ever got a bag too. That team with jimmey would have been great. At least those dope ass jerseys are coming back in time for me to get a McCain jersey. Maybe Maxey, maybe.

  12. Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, or TOS, is something I've noticed happening to a lot of pitchers lately in baseball. It has ruined the careers of players like Stephen Strasburg and Chris Archer. I believe it's usually a nerve issue in the shoulder and remember Strasburg saying that he struggled to open doors for the longest time with it.
