  1. It's great to be undefeated! I watched most of the interviews and was impressed with the tone of the team. They really want to be a great defensive team and are willing to try to run a more complex offense. No sense of rebuild or growing pains- it's time to compete with the big boys. Chauncey will have his first challenge on choosing the starters and main backups, but a great problem to have. Scoot was remarkably positive. Even Jeremy was upbeat and rather honest about his change of heart. I don't blame him- you only have so much time in the NBA and sitting on the bench with an "injury" to lose games is not fun. Go Blazers.

  2. You said in an earlier episode that last season turned around when the team benched Shae for JG. The Tou, Deni, JG lineup was pretty good. I think this goes into JG's mentality about starting. He's their best 3 point shooter, a strong defender, and has plus size. They were 12-6 over his final 18 games. In his mind why wouldn't he start? Shae is going to have to show up in a big way to knock off JG or anyone else. Not just in counting stats either. Is anyone really contesting that the starting 5 of Jrue, Tou, Deni, JG, and DC isn't the Blazers best lineup?

  3. I like the consistency and logic where you always say how players should stick to their strengths. Makes me wonder what’s the blazers “money ball” version and how far can it take them

  4. I have a strange feeling Gainnis is coming to Portland. I had the same feeling Dame was leaving Portland 3 years ago. I made the comment: Portland can't keep Walmart they won't keep Dame. I got hammered over it but……3 months later Dame asked for a trade. GIANNIS IS COMING TO PORTLAND

  5. Mike,
Remember when I was emailing you about how I think these new assistant coaches are a big deal? Not everything I send you is complete anxious gibberish!

  6. I think we need to build the attacks now through Young Hanson, he is Portland's clear advantage over almost every team, and they should already build a complete system based on his advantages, which will be already embedded and clear next year.

  7. Hansen is a near perfect match to the team: he has bball IQ, Jrue has it, Deni has tons, Tou has some, but then there's Sharpe.. so Hansen is 4/5. Yeah, this whole comment was frustration of Sharpe.

  8. Something that gives me hope about Hansen is that when anyone gives him a compliment about what he can do, he immediately talks about how he can improve. For example when anyone talks about his assists he always (since I was introduced to him in Summer League) says something like, "I need to work on my turnovers".
