  1. Nobody saw this coming because it's not likely to happen. Explain to me why Philly would want Miles McBride. They already have more than their fair share of small guards. Tyrese Maxey is 6-2. Jared McCain is 6-3. Why would they want to bring in McBride who is 6-1? Not a fit for them. They don't want to pay Grimes right now so why would they want to be in the same situation with Deuce next summer? Trading McBride and others for Grimes doesn't work out money wise for the Knicks anyway. Grimes qualifying offer is for 8.7 million if he signs it. The trade won't work for the Knicks unless someone who makes a lot more money than Grimes is the one that the Knicks are trading (Hart, Robinson, etc.). If the Knicks trade Dadiet, Kolek and McBride for just Grimes the money would be close but, that would be 3 players going out and only one returning. With the second apron hard cap, tell me how the Knicks could possibly sign the players to backfill to the required 14 (eventually 15) players while still staying below the hard cap. The math doesn't work. Leon Rose isn't making the Knicks final roster decisions. It's Mathematics that is making the upcoming roster decisions. Robinson going out and only Grimes coming back would work for the Knicks salary cap wise but why would you want to make that trade. It doesn't make you better. It just adds another smallish guard, and God knows that the Knicks already have enough of those with Brunson, Kolek, Clarkson, Shamet, Hart, McBride and Brogdon all less than 6-6. A trade for Grimes wouldn't be allowed until after December 15th anyway and the Knicks need to figure something out prior to the season if they want to keep both Shamet and Brogdon. The Knicks can't acquire Grimes before the season in a sign and trade because per the CBA if a team acquires a player in a sign and trade then that team becomes hard capped at the FIRST apron. This deal is a complete non-starter. If you liked Grimes (and DiVincenzo) that much, why did you trade them in the first place? You traded those guys away. Let it go. Put the seller's remorse to bed once and for all.

  2. I am sorry but Leon Rose is not smart. How can you Bring Grimes back? The fool can not even afford the players you got.No Leon Rose The Obi Toppin trade was stupid and it hurt you now you're ready to make another Stupid Move in a series of Stupid moves like trying to Trade Paciome Dadiet and keeping Koleck and Shamet. Spending weeks running after Ben Simmons. ASK SAM PRESTI IF HE WOULD HAVE SPENT WEEKS RUNNING AFTER BEN SIMMONS. Nah I sorry Leon Rose got Opaque Goggles on

  3. Please bring him back McBride trash he ckant even score 40 like grimes McBride struggle to score trade him so we can sign grimes

  4. I don't see how either he or Deuce gets minutes. Bench already has Brogdan, Clarkson and Hart. Where is there room for another guard? Putting that aside, if Grimes is still playing good defense, he is much better than Deuce. And with Hart having an injured finger, Grimes could be a great replacement. Grimes and Clarkson could really light it up. One concern- Grimes put up those great numbers when the games meant nothing, so there was no pressure. At Dallas, seems his numbers were mediocre.

  5. The only thing missing is a quick defensive SG that can keep up with faster guards and someone that can hit shots consistently. That being said Grimes and Shamet kind of do the same things. Shamet would be cheaper and willing to fill any role needed without the bitching.

  6. If bridges is not the starting 2 guard. Grimes starting Josh on the bench. Omg a big defender who is actually a shooter who doesn’t need the ball and can’t just be left open to shoot. Josh could be the leader of our bench with the scoring we have off the bench. This would be perfect.

  7. 1) Philly ain’t trading him to us!

    2) trading for him further solidifies the logjam we have on our bench

    3) Grimes would then be an unrestricted feee agent at the end of this season making this a 1 year rental same as Clarkson, Yabu and Bragdon (not to mention Mitch’s free agency)

    4) Grimes thrived as a starter, numbers dipped coming off the bench.

Kevin McCullers Jr has the potential to be a lesser scorer but better defensive version of Grimes.

We need our youth for when our free agency bounce next year! No trade!!!!!

  8. Get him back. He’ll play his heart out for us. And he has developed. But No McBride or squash it.

  9. I would say that the dues for grime straight out would definitely be questionable for me, but giving up to other young fires, and possibly attack is an absolute no way not a chance

  10. I have been saying this on multiple YT channels since mid last season! I think if they acquire Grimes he should start at the 2! Move Bridges to the 3, OG to the 4 and Towns to the 5! This preserves Robinson so we can have him in the playoffs! Starting Hart or Robinson is a mistake imo! I would hate to lose McBride but he isnt a point guard and he is undersized at the 2! Bridges is a good player but not a great defensive stopper at the 2 but the 3 instead! When he played for the Suns, Bridges was a great defensive player at the 3! Trading for Grimes for a one year rental would be a masterclass imo!

  11. Three team trade NYK receives Donte DiVincenzo Minnesota receives Quentin Grimes and Tyler Kolak, Philly receives Duece McBride, 2nd round pick

  12. I personally thought that the Knicks should have kept Quentin Grimes. He wasn't the issue when he was with the Knicks. Rather it was Thibs' slower style. On Dallas he didn't put up those numbers but he looked much better. By the time he got to Philadelphia, his confidence had returned.

Philadelphia doesn't seem to know what they're doing. Keeping him should be a no brainer because he's young, is good and has the potential to be the 2nd coming of Klay Thompson. He doesn't have to be Klay in terms of being an all star to be good. My point is he has that 3 and D style which is rare to find. Dallas wanted to keep him and should have (Jason Kidd loved his style) but I don't think they were planning to trade Luka back then. As for Philadelphia, they have Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, Jared McCain and Paul George. Quentin Grimes isn't just good, he's also young and could be a part of their future.

But oh well. If they don't want him, New York could step in. If the Knicks brought him back he would be better than he was on a team coached by Mike Brown. Why? Mike Brown's style is a faster pace and players sharing the ball more. Quentin Grimes can: shoot 3s, defend at a high level, drive to the rim, cut to the rim for passes that lead to easy baskets on the run, steal the ball, force turnovers, get in the passing lanes, move well without the ball and get out in transition.

  13. LET'S GO KNICKS 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀

    1) I never wanted Grimes to leave in the first place.

    2) Can we trade Dadiet, Kolek and maybe Matt Ryan with a future Draft Pick? Because I wanna keep my Boy Duece McBride with this team, He Hustles.

I'm feeling good about this year with the New Coach & the Newest Players.

    LET'S Go NY Knicks 🏀🏀🏀
