How did you not mention Broome? I tbink he will be a great 4 if he can shoot a decent 3. He fights for rebounds and is pretty good around the rim.

It was definitely the best outcome for Philly. A 20 game hot streak doesn’t ever warrant a 25 a year multi year deal & out SG/ SF. “wings” are here for the future. VJ. Justin Edwards are better than Grimes a& younger He should have accepted 15 ish a year cause no one except an over paying team is giving a bench / 6th man 25 a year I love grimes & I hope he proves he can be on a starting roster & win and hammer out 40 from 3. 20 a game. He’s smaller than our current young wings. Slower & our wings do what he does on defense SS well so that argument can’t be made 2-way. Our wings are 2 ways. About time we didn’t give in and over pay him cause I’d have to listen to all the 76ers podcasters screaming & hating grimes cause we owe him 100 mill. It was the only outcome. Grimes isn’t Maxey. When you look at 2026 free agents, there are a lot of free agents that will get paid ahead of him. The sixers may be his only option again in 2026

Not a good outcome, i hoped they could settle for a 3 year contract (3rd year player option) for 14-15 mill/year.
I think grimes wanted too much and philly offered not enough. Shame, not much trade value now and chance of retaining him next season seems very slim indeed.
No chance Grimes should have taken 40 mil for 4 years. If he just puts up 12 to 15 points a game he walks into 20 million a year over 4 years next year when more teams have space. Even if he gets injured, there's enough of a track record that he at least can get the same 40 million from another team. So there is no risk whatsoever. Getting locked into 10 million a season for 4 years is the risk. It doesn't matter how well you perform. You're stuck on that contract. No way any agent or player would approve of that
Sixers get him for the cheap for one season. But you get nothing in return for him if you don't trade him this season. And you're severely limited because he has a no trade clause and he's not making that much money. So they shot themselves in the foot by lowballing him honestly. If you wanted a good player back in return you have to at least give him $15 million. They offered him less than they did KJ Martin who was definitely not as good but they were using him as a trade exception. It's all backwards

I think both sides lost. I dont understand why the 6ers wouldnt give him like a 3yr/60mil contract. A lot of people are saying hes not worth that money but he doesnt have to be. Right now, the 6ers have no good trade pieces. Oubre, drummond, lowry, gordon, watford salaries combined is just a little over 20mil. If we wanted a player in the 25mil salary range, we would have to give up 6+ players to make salaries match. What the 6ers shouldve done was give grimes 3yrs/60mil with a team option in year 3,let vj develop on the bench for 2 years and when hes ready to start, we trade grimes and someone else for a 25-30mil power forward. If he doesnt turn out to be worth, we can trade him to a team looking to clear salary cuz his last year is team option

It was terrible on both sides once we drafted VJ. If the team's decision was to bring him back, then you don't draft VJ and create a log jam at the Guard position (especially when you include the stupid resigning of Gordon and Lowry). This is all on Morey not making logical decisions. Morey yet again wasted another off-season.
I think the 76ers are planning on tanking when Embiid and George go down with their yearly injuries. Grimes is too good and too young to fit into that rebuild. So, they want to get rid of Grimes.
