@ES the reality is scottie barnes is a good defender, but offensively he is challenged. his handle isnt where it needs to be still to create his own shot and take guys off the dribble. the raptors franchise player is someone who cant carry the team offensively is the reality. and thats fine. but people have to realize going into his 5th year on a max, if he isnt showing it by now, the reality is clear. scottie barnes is not a number 1 or 2 scoring option in the league. he is a valuable utility player.
i believe raptors need to be real with IQ also, he isnt a pg. he just holds onto the ball too much.
and gradey didnt improve defensively over the summer. they have to be real also about gradey that he isnt capable of playing defence cuz he was getting blown by guys like bruce brown.
the half court offence is also terrible as well as the 3 pt shooting.
this team is best case play in. but i think thats optimistic with the schedule they have in the 1st 20 games. they could be a seller by mid december.
and the belief this team was a top 10 defence based on beating up lottery teams last year at the end when those teams were tanking, well reality set in.
the spacing on this team has been a problem for a while, and it is still a problem.
the bright spots were ingram, rj and mamu in this game.
i think if you can move gradey or IQ, you have to do it if a decent offer comes in.
i believe RJ not getting double teamed wlil have a career year. Last year RJ was getting double teamed and had a career year, so I think this year will be easier for RJ.
Ingram is obviously the best talent on this team but i think he will struggle with the spacing on this team. probably the worst spacing he has had to play in his career.

I expected bi to look like this. And even better considering he hasnt played in live action like this in 9 months. Was alot more worried about barnes inability to get anything going
Thank God we got Ingram. I don’t have faith in Scottie as a consistent dominant scorer. Maybe I’m biased but Ingram and Barrett are a more dominant scoring threat vs Ingram and Scottie. I expect to see several air ball jumpers from Scottie this year. Hopefully he can adapt to being off ball a little more. Random note but albeit small sample size I like Sarr. Quick feet athletic and made some good passes.
