There we go. OKC, Knicks, etc. just foul non-stop. Let’s give them a taste of their own medicine.
I agree with her. Even if it doesn't get us to the playoffs this year, it needs to be the mindset and calling card of this team. I would love to see these current guys gel and become the future of a young athletic team. Built from the ground floor.
Excellent analysis.
Extended/deeper rotation, more pressure, more fouls.
The Orlando series was a HUGE wakeup call.
The C's got their butts kicked…remember KP with the bloody head.
Orlando's physicality was possibly a contributing factor to both JB and JT's injuries.
Orlando is most likely the team to beat this year in the East.
Good to see that the C's are preparing for that possible matchup.
Thanks for the continuing coverage.
This will be an exciting year!
The physical defense has definitely gone down since Marcus Smart left. I hope the Celtics do play more physically but not foul too many times unless the other team are bad free throw shooters. 😉
Nice "Crown Her" shirt, Noa! That beard is coming along nicely, Bobby!
Bobby cracks me up lol, who said thy were gonna foul more or trying to foul more? Spoken like a true non athlete/ competitor. Fouls are apart of the gme and so is physicality, they’re playing with more physicality this yr Bobby lol u wild man.
Noa!! You do a great job with your analysis’n
💚☘☘☘
Maybe Im making this up but didn’t one of the guys say something abt knowing when to foul??
I think it was Jordan or mayb Josh maybe anfernee can’t remember. I believe in good fouls personally.
Also yall know how it is in a competitive run…it’s weak asl n ruins the game flow if you’re calling fouls were guys are still sliding with you but maybe have a forearm on your hip without extending the arm, and they’re kinda using their legs to to push you off your spot w that forearm. That’s not even a foul to me and if the league is shifting to that energy guys gotta get good at it.
All that to say I buy it for sure. That’s joes energy anyway as a little guy. P Jb Hugo Josh Chris Neemi I think are naturally inclined to play that way. The other guys will have to adjust some
It funny this how they going to play now that the soft Lightskined dude won’t be playing…
The Celtics are FINALLY TOUGHER, with Tatum out of the picture, no more playing soft chucking up 3s , defense an paint penetration is what this teams TRUE identity is , it's how this team went to the finals in the first place , it's how they won .
Cs have the right roster for 35 wins maybe …i hope we get a lottery pick
Is this Bill Simmons doughter?
Boston Celtics DARK HORSE in the EAST next season 🤔🧐🤨
Defense isn't the main problem. Shooting too many 3s in the playoffs is the problem. It gets tougher and tougher to hit baskets the deeper you get into the playoffs as the pace slows and the physicality picks up. Hoopers know this. That's why a 3 is a bail out shot for the other team! They're tired too.. so When you take 2pt shots, they have to guard that shot every time. You drag their conditioning into the fight. Teams will lackadaisically gamble and let you shoot 3s.. why? Because that's not a shot everyone can make. That's why only handful of players were designated to take those shots back in the day. Now the more players on the roster shooting them, the better? It hurts the game overall. It's the sole reason it seems "the world is catching up" to USA hoops. We started playing the way they always have and call it progress. Two point precision is KING STILL! That's how SGA won with the thunder this year. That's why Jordan is the GOAT still. You couldn't stop him from getting to 2pt spots where in his mind, he was guaranteed to knock the shot down. He drew doubles and killed the defense by swinging it to teammates. That's how you manipulate the game. Not by shooting more threes… If Jaylen has a good 2pt year feasting in the lane, we will win more. If Joe's style plays out, we lose more. Tatum, if you're listening, you have some of the best post moves in the league and you are currently the best American born player, GET BACK TO YOUR BAG INSIDE THE LANE BRO. Post up, slash and shoot that beautiful two pointer you have around the box mayne. WE.WILL.WIN.ANOTHER.CHAMPIONSHIP.
Where is the dress code? Where is the professionalism? You guys look like? You just rolled out of bed from your mom’s basement by the way, all of this qUETTA talk about who’s gonna get the center minutes the rookie from Kentucky is on his way to be in some type of version of Bam adebeyo Go ahead feel free to steal my material and take my advice.
I don’t know if I agree with my man at all. I don’t think defense that’s ok with more fouls means a defense ok with more mistakes it means more physical. OKC is just really handsy with their on ball defense and that means more fouls but also more anxious ball carriers and that’s what I would assume they are talking about. I agree with noa, pressure the ball as much as possible and play physical, if they let you do it in the post season play that way all year so u get good as a team playing that style.
Joe had Neme on the bench all year and then while he lost to the Knicks bc of refusal to rebound. Meanwhile he developed and played Kornet on expiring contract who has 0 chance of contributing in NBA Finals due to lack of athleticism. Now to make up for his bruised ego, Joe is playing tough guy in camp which is great until someone get hurt. How many NBA title winners had both a coach and GM that never played in the league?
I agree with Noa. I'm glad we're talking about a new defensive identity. Our defensive style was too passive during the playoffs
