Needs to be said lol. Kobe’s death is another reminder of the Absurdity of existence and that we live in a cold silent random Universe. The mighty are not supposed to fall that way.
i think he could have still played, but not at the level that he found acceptable. for such a player that strived to be the best player on the court, he might not have wanted to go out with a whimper
I mean, he could've done it but it would've been a tough watch. Had he never torn his Achilles and all those major injuries afterwards, then perhaps he could've still been effective at 40
He basically said he wouldn’t want to keep playing until 40, because for him it was never about collecting a paycheck — it was about the love of the game, the competition, and giving everything he had.
Once he felt he couldn’t give that same level of effort, he’d rather walk away than play just for the money.
Whats funny is. Most players have a gradual decrease in scoring, minutes etc. Lebron james is still playing averaging 25ppg. Seems really weird considering. No player has done that from year 1 to year 22. Makes me think he is doing steroids or using something to keep his production up. We saw MJ. The greatest decline after 1998. He was still great. But very different. When is Lebron gonna be a mortal man? And go to 15ppg. Makes me think. Its easy to score in todays game. In regards to Kobe. He left it all out there. I believe that. He was 100% in the game every game. Im glad he realized its time to go. TMAC gave out early. Vince carter was able to adjust to each phase of his game. Remarkable. VC.

When Kobe retired the main thing he said when he announced it was “I don’t want to do this anymore”. It’s that simple.
Showmanship, leave before you wear out your welcome. Leave them wanting more.

Kobe fans looking away from this interview
Kobe’s slight hesitation when he said “I’m sure” made you see how much Kobe loved the game
Still cant believe he's gone…Life is crazy sometimes.
miss u kobe
On a side note Vince had all the talent, athleticism, and longevity to be a top 20 player ever if he really wanted to be that.
When Kobe retired he simply just didn't have that passion anymore that fire he once had.

I mean Bron’s doing it so I for sure think Kobe could have
The love is gone
Ya'll praise kobe for saying it. Lebron is living it and ya'll are still hating. Bunch of hypocrites 😂😂😂

He didn't need to

if Kobe held back, Ate healthy and played like Lebron he would of played until he turn 50. lmao
Kobe spent his entire life until 2017 obsessing over health and basketball. That has to get exhausting. I think that’s why he retired.
It’s the fact that his fans want to believe that he could
