The Celtics and their fans adored Luke Kornet.There is only one reason why Kornet is not still with Boston. They couldn't afford him. Anybody who watched Kornet play for Boston knew what the Spurs were getting; an elite backup that Wemby has never had.
I think the Spurs need to open up Kornet's 3pt. game again, maybe after he gets settled in… Especially, when it comes to a Kornet/Wemby pick & roll. That would be handy to have in his repertoire of tricks. From what I've gathered, he was a high percentage from the 3pt. range in college, so it wouldn't hurt, especially if they make it to the Playoffs.

Take the Spurs off the board in Giannis trade talks. Wemby is so good they don't need GA to get over the hump. With a healthy Wemby-Fox-Kornet-Castle-Harper-Bryant and role players all they need is to replace their head coach. Sadly, alpha male Popovich, to secure his coaching legacy, sabotaged the team by hiring wussy Mitch Johnson.
