The Toronto Raptors Two Most Exciting Storylines
Brandon Ingram looks flat-out different in a Raptors jersey: sharper, calmer, and clearly in control. After ESPN ranked him 77th while placing Scottie Barnes at 30, Ingram’s preseason performance is making that look ridiculous. He’s torching defenses, flowing perfectly within Toronto’s new motion-heavy offense, and showing leadership on both ends of the floor that screams best player on the team.
Meanwhile, rookie Collin Murray Boyles continues to turn heads — not just with his numbers, but with the hustle, defensive IQ, and energy of an elite role player in the making. From switching onto guards to protecting the rim to finding open teammates on the move, CMB is proving he’s more than just potential — he’s production.
This breakdown dives into Toronto’s two most exciting storylines of the preseason: Ingram’s statement-level play and Murray Boyles’ emergence as the Raptors’ next great developmental success. The Raptors might not be on everyone’s radar yet, but if this early chemistry and intensity hold, they won’t be flying under the radar for long.

I know its just one game
But makes me worried how smooth this offense looked without iq and scottie…
I've told everyone since the trade. Brandon hasn't reached his peak and it looks like he's finally with a coaching staff that's gonna let him just play HIS game. He's dropping 20 a game in 20 minutes like it's easy. He's gonna go crazy this year.
IQ, Scottie & MOGbo are trade pieces I hope they make me eat these words
East gonna be wide open this season, Raps gonna surprise people 🎉
I could see Toronto as a second round team, and that’s not a slight, that’s something to build on for a young squad
Sell high on barnes while we still can!
As an aside, the 2024 draft year may become known as the best ever in Raptors history (even better than Carter's) as it effectively and inexpensively replenished their depth without having to trade or sign free agents, Now. if they choose to, they can attempt a major trade from a position of strength.
Jakob is soft as porridge. I'm a fan of his, but a strong wind will put him out for a week.
CMB is gonna be a great addition. His D iq is really good for a rook, reminds me of Draymond Green, with a better shooting mechanic. If his shoot improves, he should have a good run
Move out I.Q and his 30+ mill salary. Not good value for this team
BI is the scorer we needed. Let’s go raps
B.I.3 mamu and cmb are going to be great assets for the raptors this szn
All addition of BI CMB and Mamu are contributing MASAIVELY already. We’re literally an rj trade away from being a 50 win home court playoff team
Chris Bosh?? Gotta get some more info for that comparison
Kept telling you’ll Ingram would be the go to over Scottie and rj , yall don’t realize how good Ingram actually is , bc he has been put in horrible situations as far as coaches and such . Ingram could easily avg 25 + ppg if giving the opportunity
