We haven’t had any rookie positively impact winning since rookie Scottie. Sure would’ve nice for this trend to be broken by CMB.
I would love to see him play a great proportion of his minutes with the main guys but there is a frustrating lack of spacing if CMB, Scottie and Jak share the floor. I would love to see IQ, Scottie, BI, CMB, MAMU get some run together. IMO a more permanent stretch 5 would unlock this team. Run offense through Scottie and BI, have IQ off-ball more and leverage him as the shooting threat he is.

CMB is gonna be really hard to keep off the floor. That jumpshot doesn't look nearly as broken as was advertised. He cleans it up a little bit, and we've got a real good 2-way guy on our hands. RJ is answering the bell when it comes to questions about his fit with BI. And BI is looking like the steady hand on offense we so badly needed.
It's preseason, but I'm liking what I'm seeing. Now if Scottie can show me something next game, and if Poeltl can get himself on the floor so we can see the full starting 5, I'll feel a whole lot better about it before game 1.

I was honestly quite frustrated when they passed on Maluach for CMB. I still think picking CMB wasn't the best choice but he is definitely growing on me. Super excited with how active he is and very impressive physically, especially after Gradey and JW. It's nice to see a rookie with an NBA body who can compete physically.

The one thing ive noticed about CMB throughout his college highlights and this pre-season game is that despite his actual size he always seems to look like the biggest guy on the court. I've rarely ever seen another 6'7 player that plays so much bigger then his height. I'm excited to watch him grow in toronto

I'm really starting to lose faith in IQ especially as a PG. The lineups I really want this year are moving RJ to point. So RJ, Scottie, BI, CMB, Mamu/Jak. Or RJ, Jakobe, BI, Scottie and Mamu/Jak.
He is going to be a star in this league. Since his first minute of action at South Carolina, i knew he was different. He plays so much bigger than 6’7.
