At my college there was a janitor who was 6'11". The guy was 37 years old looked 67. He messed up his knees in college, didn't make it to the NBA and moved back to the hood in Maryland where he grew up. He was a nice guy but you could tell life wasn't very fun for him. Dude was hunched over, half bald with salt and pepper hair, walked slowly with a limp and often winced in pain bending over to reach things. Word was he didn't finish college, got involved in drugs and spiraled down for years. Kind of a cautionary tale for anyone who ever thought that their problems in life would be solved by being super tall and athletic.
Hi, As a French viewer, I would ask if can you disable the auto audio translation? Cause YT has removed the function to do it myself and since I just can't watch the video anymore 1) the IA cover translate all words including basketball related one like hoops, dunk, ball, jumpers and so on despite we use English word in French making the video just impossible to understand 2) the AI voice sound awful Thank you very much 🙏
Man, it would really be better if you weren't so sensational at times. You outright lie about certain statistics like KD being listed at 6'11, Wemby at 7'5 yet you listing them both taller just because "urban legends" say so. Plus the way you described the tall ball lineups "failing" even though they've barely been tried and the results have been mixed. And then saying Zach Edey "didn't even play a full season worth of games" when he played 66/82 in the only year he could. You only said that to make the number even lower. It really calls into the question the legitimacy of everything else you're saying and obfuscates the actual good storytelling you do. Keep to the story, stop the embellishment. It would be better overall.
Olivier Rioux may be naturally tall, but he's not shoe in for the NBA. This dude rode the bench in high school. The was red shirted in college in his first season. He's going need the max 5 years of college eligibility just to maybe be a starter. His best hope is to be an undrafted end of bench gimmick player who is really just there as a second mascot. Olivier is slow, no range, slow, low basketball IQ, slow, not aggressive enough, slow, no stamina, and did I mention slow?
We all know Wemby is at least 7'5 even when he entered the league. Every time he stands beside Gobert whos 7'1, hes much taller (visually at least 5 inches).
Tacko averaged 13 points, 14.2 rebounds, and 4.7 blocks per 36 in the career he was allowed to have (228 minutes). He also has a .189 WS/48 in his time on the Celtics while never playing with the starters who might have been skilled enough to get him the ball in really good spots for easy baskets. He played well in the G league and is dominating in China. The NBA is a club and not everybody gets equal opportunity to play in it.
I hope the spurs did the necessary test on wemby he does not display the physical signs of a genetic disorder but he shouldn't be growing he is 7.6 the spurs just gently wants to put forward his actual height
It takes time for neurosignals, nutrients, blood, and water to travel in tall bodies. For sports, extreme height is just a disability. Wemby is a true alien 👽
Wadlow wouldn’t be a good basketball player at all. He’s too slow for starters and also he had poor coordination and balance. You could just have him stand under the rim but he’d turn over the ball prob 70% of the time.
Jimmy's argument was my initial skepticism on Wemby was he too tall and potentially injury prone and so far Lord willing Wemby will be the greatest 7+ ft player in NBA history
Stating no human has ever grown to these sizes is scientifically false. We literally have archeology finds that show people 10 feet plus. That date back to biblical times
last I checked, the the game is made for tall players but athletic players are those who find reaching the NBA easier… so i would rank Athleticism, High and ball IQ as the top 3 most important attributes… Wemby is special he has all 3 of these on a high level….

Dude…I think I went to college with Bob Wegner!!! I was wondering if I would see him on this list…I knew it was a tall guy named Bob with glasses
Watching him play would be boring.
please add subs with metric
Robert wadlow is from my home town Alton Illinois I pass his statue everyday on my way to work
More WNBA content plz
You should do how short can you be to play basketball
Meanwhile, my starting line up in 2K averages 7'0" 🤣
Oliver looks normal. All the other really tall dude above him….. lol…… tend to have exaggerated facial growth.
I thought his tie was small. 😂

271.78 cm to all the non american normies
I feel like the perfect height in the current NBA is about 6'10
if wemby ends up playing around 15 years, it will be a scientific miracle
Nice content

It's interesting that Wemby's features look normal, even though he's absurdly tall

Seems like Lively, according to the mavs has grown to 7'3"

My friend is 7’1 at 16 years old
5:10 Agnus MacAskill is considered the tallest person without a medical or genetic condition for his height, he was 7 feet 9 inches.

12:16 was Yao working an old Shawn Kemp here? Or am I tipping?
I think that a team of
Pg Kevin durant 7"0
Sg Lauri Markkanen 7"0
Sf Chet Holmgren 7"1
Pf Victor Wembanyama 7"6
C Yao ming 7"6
Can win 82-0 Easy
Is there any reason they would understate wembys size?
Jimmy's argument was my initial skepticism on Wemby was he too tall and potentially injury prone and so far Lord willing Wemby will be the greatest 7+ ft player in NBA history
I remember the all star game in 03 at one point they had all 7 footers and then Steve Francis at PG 😂. The others were Shaq, Yao, Duncan & KG
The sweet spot is 6’4 to 7’8 any taller and the persons mobility is too poor to compete

FTC is bout to react to this, IYKYK
I am 6 ft 3 and have broad shoulders. Being 8 ft 11 and having broad shoulder going clothes shopping is a nightmare.
