  1. here we go … now every armchair GM in Portland will want to trade Shaedon for a draft pick & more affordable player. Bust out the calculators, save the Franchise money. "rebuilding is FUN. The playoffs are BORING. Watching new rookies is the BEST part of the NBA"

  2. They traded Simons, because they believe Shaedon is an upgrade at the starting 2 spot. Then Cronin lobs a cheaper contract then what Simons got.
"oh… that's plenty of money, Shaedon should take."

  3. The thing about long contract extensions for young players is that they can lose their incentive to improve, and as much potential as Shae has, he is nowhere near to showing he’s a lock for future superstar status after three years in the league. If he does show that this season, the Blazers are in position to match any offer he gets next year and hang on to him.

  4. I like this move. He can sign next sesson when there’s going to be more room within the cap to get paid more
