The Toronto Raptors’ preseason opener is in the books and they come up short against the Denver Nuggets in their first-ever preseason game in Vancouver. There were good things to report but also some bad things to support, especially and unfortunately with Scottie Barnes and Gradey Dick.

The raps have become too predictable, each player plays how you think they will.
Scottie Barnes is not a max money or franchise player. How many more years do we have to wait? Big stats on a meager team, but what can he produce on a winning team? He looked terrible period…that's unacceptable.
Nuggets fan here! I often prefer to watch (mostly listen) to YouTube play-by-play watch alongs over/along with watching the actual live games. I found yours last night and it was awesome! Your audio, set-up, voice, fun, keeping-it-real commentary was great! (Even if sometimes you just go “no comment” when the opposing team scores or makes an awesome play lol 😉)

I learned nothing talk to me after 20 games. Overreaction for content
It’s remarkable how close the Raptors came to beating the Nuggets even with various issues the Raptors had, with a not-so-good first quarter having hurt them. yet even at the end of the first quarter, I figured the Raptors were going to be on pace likely to score at least 100 points in the entire game, and that is what would happen via having scored 108 and having hit the century mark a bit over 4:30 into the fourth quarter. There no doubt is work to do including, but by no means limited to, free-throw and three-point shooting. The Raptors against the Nuggets went 30-for-55 from two-point range but 18-for-27 from the free-throw line and 10-for-42 from three-point range.
If Barnes can not shoot ,it means playing alongside Poetle will be a disaster.
Scottie will be fine
Scottie is way too inconsistent for the money that he's making. VERY concerning on the offensive end. Doesn't remotely look like an all-star. Not sure he will gel effectively with RJ and Ingram.
I'm not one to overreact after one game. A damn PRESEASON game. I can't make any conclusions rn. I'll talk about this team at the trade deadline.
I’m here so you can tell me in your delusion why Scottie actually had a good game, and played better than RJ.
The offense was rough at times but this was without Jakob Poeltl. Don't forget how key a player Jak was for this Raptors squad last season. He was looking like the most valuable player at times on the Raptors.
Now imagine how much better the offense of this Raptors team would be if they traded for Giannis in the offseason.
Giannis is still 30 years old, MVP candidate, averages 30ppg every season with good defense, and can and WILL carry the offense of a team. Ingram was looking nice in this game but he isn't a number 1 option. I feel like the fit between him and Giannis would have been perfect because it would be similar to the fit between Giannis and Khris Middleton which won the Bucks a title.
