Loving Ben Mathurin, Furphy, Taelon Peter, Quinton Jackson, Ray J. Dennis. Huff was awesome. Obi was fantastic as always. Jarace has a lot of talent, tools. It's finding where, when and how he needs to continue to execute them. Imo I'm looking to use him as much as possible at PF, as much as I can if there are bigger SF's he can better matchup against. If they're the more athletic types, we need Nesmith, Sheppard, Furphy and Ben when he's not playing SG. But I love Ben at the SG position. I've always thought he was more of a SG/SF. But Taelon is a specialist who is scrappy and has the I.Q with huslte. I love that kid. Idk how to feel about Jackson. Haven't seen enough of Wiseman, but he had some nice finishes plays down low. I like his size if he can stay healthy. I still feel one should end up being traded for another stretch C this season. Like Jalen Smith, or Day'Ron Sharpe. Maybe we move on from both depending on how they play throughout the season and depending on how good Huff continues to play. Because then we could also use Tony Bradley for the rest of the season. Then look to sign Nick Richards, or Vucevic if he'd be okay with taking more backup minutes. I would love to see Wiseman ball out and play great. Same for I-Jax really. But I wonder about I-Jax now.. which blows really. Because he was so amazing defensively and such a good blocker/hustle player. Was getting much better at not fouling as much.. but a guy who fully relies on his athleticism, doesn't shoot, is undersized, doesn't weigh much.. He's only going to continue to stuggle if he can't get back to himself fast… Not sure how much time I'm willing to give him. Especially if he's fouling a lot and not being as affective.
Hamstrings are preparation injuries
Furphy's injury will rear its ugly head the next day (swelling, etc), the severity of the ligament damage won't be known right away with severe ankle injuries
Obi Toppin is SO good man. He looked really comfortable and to be honest, dominant.
Knew he was underrated (even for a pacer) but that finals run has clearly pushed him to improve even more.
Really hope we can keep him for as long as possible.
Taelon "to the max" Peter appears to be a special talent.
Pacers need to trust their young guards. Quinton Jackson, Ray J Dennis, Taelon Peter and even Kam Jones over -(Cam Payne) I'd rather waited on Monté Morris to get healthy and sit on the bench. Since they waited too long to get a vet guard. The guy's they have are by far the best available player's and need the minutes to grow. There are some other young bigs we could try if we needed to. But now everyone is signed.
I believe I'd rather have JD Davison than Cam Payne. As long as you aren't playing through JD as much. You could use him as that extra guy who's much better defensively than Cam. Who can cut and body up on guy's. Limit his minutes and use him when you need him and he could have been a serviceable PG. I thought they should have brought in N'flay Dante before he was signed. He's a decent all around big. Not very big, but efficient in the pick n roll, lob threat, rebounds and sets screens. Not much out there. Hopefully all our guy's will continue to stay healthy and play well. We could always pick up the 7'5 guy the Mavs let go of lol. Or Bol Bol. Jk. Lol
Just play our young guy's and if Monté Morris becomes healthy. Sign him later in the season maybe..
Peters!! Been here since the draft hyping him up. Told you he has starter level talent!
Jackson is the back up point guard for me. He plays hard and has put in the work for the job
Do the pacers deal for a prayer
NOT FURPHY BRO OMG I HATE THIS
I was pleasantly surprised by the group, particularly as the game progressed. Jarace's assists number is a positive. So impressed with Quenton Jackson. Peter was amazing!!! Ugh, the injuries are piling up. Thanks Tony!!!
Is Rick driving them too hard ?
Q looked good tonight. Fans who need to understand if we convert him. It makes it more likely he could be cut to make room for another player.
