I feel like this season has been weirder than most because it’s just been a constant stream of drama, head-scratching moves, and irritating media moments that’s almost overshadowing the actual game at this point. It’s like we’re talking about everything EXCEPT people actually playing basketball.

He tried to take Ja's guns away
As a Grizzlies fan, I’m stoked they did something. They slipped from 2nd to 5th and have looked subpar since the all star break. There is a legitimate chance they slip into a play-in spot. Can you imagine a team going from the 2nd seed to a play-in spot in such a short period of time? The team looks uninspired, and anyone who has actually watched the Grizzlies play recently will see how questionable the coaching has been. TJ needed to go regardless, might as well see if a change in coaching can reinvigorate the team before going into the playoffs.

Grizz fan here. I disagree with the timing, but I understand the decision. I really don't think there's anything going on behind the scenes. Dude is a boyscout.
This likely has more to do with their poor performance against "near peer" teams this season. Their defensive rating has fallen off a cliff as the season has gotten harder in the last few months, the vibes are getting worse, there's weird stuff with the rotations when healthy, there's been effort problems, and the stars have been frustrated with the new offense all season.
All that being said, I honestly think that the bigger issue is that there has been serious roster construction issues, and this is the step you take before putting Kleiman under the microscope
The only way I can wrap my head around this decision is by tbh king he did something really bad. My Celtics gave Ime Udoka a few chances after he did some very unsavory things so being the 5 seed with a very promising future and just dumping the coach is baffling.

Nah the only thing shocking is the timing of it all. He lost the locker room (i.e., Ja) and he and Kleiman have been at loggerheads about implementing the TI new offense. LaRouche is also gone so that should tell you they are looking to go in a completely different direction

Jenkins was fired when team management discovered he had eaten 10 years worth of orangesicles from the stadium’s cold storage. A blow from which the Grizzlies may never financially recover.
It must be because players didn't like him or he hurt their fragile egoes, he is a diddler or something else… Because otherwise this makes no sense at all… This season has been weird, first Luka, now a winning coach, I atleast hope these are not connected…

Grizz fans understand why this is baffling to people, thing is we know most of y'all do not pay attention to this team nor do you remember the last 3 seasons in their totality.
This team was ahead of schedule ever since they won the play-in in Bane's rookie season. An injury riddled 2024 made most of you forget they had 2 50+ win seasons.
This season their best player has made a major refression and their gigantic 1st round draft pick was being used as a cutter (the coach's own words) and spot up shooter. Also the defense has fallen off a cliff goong into the playoffs.
He was the fifth longest tenured coach in the league and all he has to his name is 1 playoffs series win. He was on the hot seat the whole time y'all just didnt know.
The grizzlies have been moving weird the past few seasons. This is just the biggest blunder. The way they did Dillon brooks was DIRTY, and unless Jenkins did something we don’t know about, this is another DIRTY move by the organization. What about the playoffs? You’re telling your 4th seeded, young team, they aren’t good enough to do anything this year. A terrible organization that lucks into draft picks lol
