Why waste a pick on a player because he can't play effective defense? Matter of fact why not trade the pick?

As a Magic fan I’ve honestly never trusted anything Brett James writes, that being said Jett and Jase have opportunities to earn minutes and maybe he’ll have a Caleb Houston type fit. That being said he shouldn’t have that much work to do in year 3
