This IS an amazing story, and I’d love to see JT come back this season. However, I fear for the worse. I feel like the Celtics should see how the season is going. If they can remain a .500 team through Christmas, then maybe Tatum returning will be good for this season. If it’s a dumpster fire, go for a lottery pick. I honestly can’t predict a Celtics season without Tatum. The Celtics have some stars, and other players whose potential could only get better, with more playing time. I just don’t want to see Tatum regret his decision, and ruin his longevity.
Only bring him back if we make the playoffs. The last thing he needs is to over exert himself and tear the Achilles again which would be catastrophic. Heal 100 percent the future of his career is dependent on it.

A lot of great players have come back from serious injuries like his too soon and were never the same as a result. He should not be rushed back at all in my opinion, even if we do make the playoffs. It’s not worth risking his entire career for a few playoff games.
