POSTCAST – THRILLING — Learning Under Pressure: Jazz Rookies Get Extended Run in Overtime Loss
David Locke and Ron Boone bring you POSTCAST after every Utah Jazz game. Keyonte George forces overtime with a clutch three-pointer, but the Utah Jazz fall short to the San Antonio Spurs, 134-130, in a thrilling preseason battle. David Locke, radio voice of the Utah Jazz and Jazz NBA Insider, spotlights the relentless effort and growth from a young Jazz roster—Ace Bailey flashes unique shot-making skills under pressure, Taylor Hendricks embraces on-ball opportunities, and Walter Clayton Jr. finds rhythm with extended minutes. Ron Boone, analyst, breaks down how these prospects handled crunch-time situations, emphasizing the value of experience—even against less established NBA opponents.
The episode examines Victor Wembanyama’s dominant, versatile play for the Spurs, as Locke and Boone speculate on his trajectory toward Defensive Player of the Year and possible MVP contention. They break down the chaotic roster puzzle in San Antonio, questioning how pieces like De’Aaron Fox, Devin Vassell, Stefan Castle, and Dylan Harper can all fit alongside Wembanyama’s star power. With roster logjams and high draft picks in the spotlight, Jazz fans are left wondering: how will the minutes and roles shake out once veterans return, and which of these young talents will seize their place?

Jazz are going to be better than people think. 92% from FT line 34/37 11 Turnovers. They are going to be a much better shooting team than last years team.
Funny how there were multiple instances of Locke or Boone not finishing their sentences and I still knew exactly what they were saying. Love this dynamic duo!
😂
Need to add to though that SA made their run while the Jazz had players in that most likely don’t see much time this year, probably.
I like that the jazz really compete even if they are really raw and young. My big takeaway so far this pre-season is that you guys got one of your (Tatum/Brown) this year – Ace! I think pretty much everything else is kind of insignificant compared to that. So congrats jazz fans!!
The defense is still none existent
