    10 straight years of not being healthy that is Joel Embiid’s injury history it doesn’t matter how he looks right now at some point during the season he will get hurt and miss a lot of games like he always does his 10 year’s in the league his injury history says so theirs no disputing the facts

    Joel absolutely should be able to play on Friday for 15 to 20 minutes.
    Makes no sense not to want him to play. It would be 5 days before the home opener, plenty of time to recover.
    Joel shouldn't mind playing limited minutes in pre-season, because it wouldn't count towards his stats.
    But if Joel played 15 -20 minutes, and played well, he would have no excuse to miss the first game vs Boston on October 22.
    That is the reason Joel may not play on Friday vs Minny. As Derek has pointed out, Joel doesn't like being on a minutes restriction based on history.
    So Joel may refuse to play on Oct 22, if he isn't allowed to play at least 30 minutes.

    Sorry, Joel being Selfish is still the biggest correctable issue. Joel will call himself Competitive.
    Until/unless Joel stops being selfish, I expect Embiid to play himself into more inflammation and holding back his teammates by pacing himself so he can play over 30 minutes.

    I still want him to sit for the first dozen games at least 🤷🏾‍♂️ I don’t think its an exaggeration to say his performance (and PG to a lesser extent) this season dictates which way we need to go moving forward regarding contention or rebuild, so the last thing I wanna do is rush our MVP!!

    Lets be honest now. Quentin Grimes is better than Valdez Jr. and it isn't even close. Had QDot played vs ORL, it would have been obvious to all but the VJ Fanboys, that this is the case. That is likely why he wasn't allowed to play.

    The people making the decisions are going out of their way to promote VJ.
    But both Morey and Nurse will be fired after the season, if the team isn't contending.
    Fans should be upset, but instead most are falling in line.
    Most in the media like PHLY_Sixers are kissing up to management, with the occasional exception of suggesting that Josh Harris cares more about avoiding paying Luxury Taxes, than about winning. That could result in Morey giving away Kelly Oubre at the trade deadline, so that the Sixers can duck under the Luxury Tax for the 4th year in a row.

    Grimes should be starting over Valdez Jr. Only because of McCain's surgery, should VJ be playing more than 15 mpg at the start of the season.
    VJ has a poor handle, a poor shot and he's poor at finishing at the basket. He CANNOT play point guard, which makes it frustrating to see Nick Nurse play up VJ.

    Politics, Politics, Politics rules. Its unfortunate, because if not for Luxury Taxes, the Sixers absolutely can re-sign Grimes to what he should have been offered this past summer.
