Chicago Bulls fall to Denver Nuggets despite Buzelis and Giddey’s STRONG Play π Vucevic was BAD! π₯
The Chicago Bulls fell to the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets 124-117 at Ball Arena, but there was still plenty for Bulls fans to get excited about β and a lot to be frustrated with. Host Philip Charles VanDerHeyden IV breaks it all down in this full recap on Just Another Year Chicago: Bulls!
Letβs start with the positives: Matas Buzelis continues to look like a future star in the making. The rookie was unbelievable on both ends of the floor β showing poise, elite defensive instincts, and offensive confidence beyond his years. His ability to switch on defense and still score efficiently made him the biggest bright spot for Chicago. Josh Giddey also continues to silence the doubters who said he couldnβt shoot. His jumper looks smoother and more confident than ever, and his playmaking remains elite, helping the Bulls keep up with Denverβs pace.
Unfortunately, Nikola Vucevic remains a major problem. Once again, he was exposed defensively, struggling to contain Nikola JokiΔ and allowing the Nuggets to dictate the game in the paint. Offensively, Vucevic looked sluggish and out of sync, missing key shots and failing to provide the inside presence Chicago desperately needs. Itβs becoming clearer each game that his role β and effort β are holding this team back from reaching its full potential.
Despite Voochβs struggles, Chicago still had several standout performances. Coby White stayed aggressive, dropping 18 points and dishing out 7 assists. Ayo Dosunmu brought defensive energy and smart shot selection, adding 14 points. Matas Buzelis contributed 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 blocks in a highlight-filled showing. Josh Giddey flirted with a double-double, finishing with 16 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds β and most importantly, he hit shots in rhythm.
The Bulls shot 46% from the field and 39% from three, but turnovers (16 total) and defensive lapses in the paint cost them dearly against a well-oiled Nuggets offense led by JokiΔβs 27-point, 11-assist night.
PCV IV gives his full thoughts on the Bullsβ effort, what Chicago can take away from this game, and what needs to change heading into the rest of the preseason. Donβt miss his breakdown of why the team should keep building around young talent like Buzelis and Giddey while seriously reconsidering what to do with Vucevic.

No, Vooch is still a valuable centre however I think he will struggle with the pace of the offence as it is getting quicker
He is a good center but not useful for the new Bulls
Okoro's stats across several seasons with Cleveland were overall fairly modest. Not sure what the thinking was in bringing him onto the Bulls roster. He will struggle against the better teams. Agree that Matas & Giddey showed encouraging form and if Ayo can stay injury-free then he is a serious weapon for the Bulls this coming season. I notice that Julian Phillips has been under-utilised this pre-season – is he injured, or what?
Get Zach Edey
Sorry for being negative guys

Archie William Tate the fourth here!! I'm done with reading articles from fansided! They are questioning the bulls not signing Coby to an extension. The bulls can only give him 89 mil, 4 year extension. He has said over a month ago that he wasn't signing an extension. These dudes don't know what their talking about
This would be My dream scenario.. trade vuc for whatever u can get for him. Trade pwill for a bag of popcorn. Trade Coby to the rockets for reed Sheppard and a couple draft picks. In the and either trade for Utah Kessler or just sign him outright next off-season. Then our whole team is at a similar time frame with all the ages being young. A young, fast team, with the mixture of offense and defense.
With Coby, tre, and huerter, were undefeated in the preseason
Are u going to air tonight's game? I heard u were going to a game and wouldn't podcast… Is that tonight's game?
