The Grizzlies miss key players and come up short against the Hawks in the preseason
The Grizzlies lost another preseason game, dropping at home to a full-strength Hawks team. Scotty Pippen Jr and Vince Williams Jr were held out, joining Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr, Zach Edey and Brandon Clarke on the injured list.
Despite struggling to score and protect the rim, the Grizzlies did make a rally in the 4th quarter behind Cedric Coward and OMax Prosper to make it close before finally coming up short.
This episode discusses the game, the continued strong play of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Ty Jerome, and the overall talent level of the roster beyond Ja and Jaren.

Bro is always hating on Edey
NBA loves Edey, they even tried to say he was the tallest.. but none of that matters if you fumble the ball everytime you touch it.. if you’re even able to catch it.. the guy can’t dunk with 1 hand.. slowest big league wide
You're missing the fact that this is now a Tuomas Iisalo collective where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
It's about how well the players fit into and execute the system more so than absolute individual talent.
It is still super early in the process though so things look different from what they will look like when everyone has learned the system and it is fully flowing. EVERYTHING is new and shaky. Players are being asked to play faster than they ever have, and do things they've never done before. There are monumental changes to absolutely everything and at this stage it's mostly about the structure of the system. Everything else comes later.
NBA training camp and pre season being so short compared to Europe means it's a gargantuan challenge to introduce this many changes and means that the first part of the season will still have a pre season feel to it. It is going to take a good while for everyone to get comfortable and the system to start flowing according to plan, but when it does, we are going to dominate!
All you guys applauded the bane move? IT WAS A TERRIBLE MOVE! This organization is awful! Kleiman is the worst front office guy in the league. We get worse every move he does.
And ja Morant “being fine” opening night is not the point. Dude is a lazy guy. It pains me to say that, but it’s true. He’s unmotivated and kind of a baby. Get your ass out there and play preseason! He thinks he’s too good for it.
😂😂😂 let's tank one more season
Grizz need there young “promising” players to actually improve. GG has not improved since he got here.
I want to be more active in the Nashville watch parties. Im going to come to all of them this year.
4th quarter Ced >>
Yeh, you're right. I am doing a lot of comparison right now vs. other teams and we really, really, don't stack up. I think we're going to be bottom feeders this year.
Finally someone with some logic
