I doubt flagg starts the season at the 1 that would completely stunt his growth. Hes not a PG nor does he have elite playmaking or even enough playmaking to be the 1. This is more of a preaseason thing

Jason won’t do it, but if Gafford can’t go in week one I would start AD at the 5 and have lively come off the bench
KIDD Brought in Nemhard Right Away. Cooper won't get too many minutes at PG unless he really plays good there.
Don't burden Flagg with this level of usage at 18. Good grief it will run him into the ground.

Cooper Flagg may be the Mavs best player in a year or two. However, right now, AD and Kyrie (when healthy) are better players than Cooper.
Certainly this should not surprise anyone on this action. Way too many questions remain unanswered. Has anyone considered. No way was Nico going to give Luka his super max contract. Did he deserve it? Of course he did. But the cards possibly were fixed. Possibility #1. Kidd simply rode Luka to the point of him playing on 1 leg in the finials. #2. If Mavs win championship no way could Nico not pay him so the fix was negotiated, here is where I sick on my stomach Irving played at All NBA level in playoffs until the Celtics then outside of 1 game he was simply awful. He gets hurt yet Nico signs him to a huge contract. Now the unbelievable irony Mavs get #1 pick, and Nico has no other choice to draft another white superstar in Flagg. So the cards are dealt and Nico simply has to save face however he can. I still love my Mavs but I think Kidd, Nico, Irving sold out Luka and the Mavs fan base. Could you imagine Luka, Klay, Grimes, PJ, Marshall, Irving, Flagg, Lively, & Gafford. Championship Roster.

Just imagine Luka instead of Kyrie with these line ups. They’d score 140-150 a game, and anyone that drove by Luka and Klay would run into that massive athletic front line.
You hit this one right on the nose. Kidd will do questionable things as we have seen in the past. I'm sure if he decides Flagg will play point that the assistant coaches will take away his little Debbies out of his lunch box. Playing the one requires a quick first step to break down and collapse the defense. A big man will just hurt himself trying to do that. Though I really feel D-lo will get plenty of minutes at the one, I lean towards B Will running the offense. He's got the fastest first step on the team and can score big time. Even Nembhard would push the team faster than D-lo. Play D-lo at the 2 to back up Clay. I would not even start Flagg, let this guy develop instead of putting the pressure on him, causing the rook to second guess his game. Go Mavs!
