We’re recapping the Hornets’ second preseason game, a close loss to the Thunder where the guards lit it up, with Tre Mann and Collin Sexton providing a huge offensive spark. However, Brandon Miller’s struggles continue, and we debate whether it’s time to be concerned or if patience is still the key for the former number two pick.
The Hornets dropped their second preseason game to the Oklahoma City Thunder 122-116, but this was a much more competitive contest against OKC’s starters, and there were plenty of positives to take away. On today’s recap, we look at the stellar performances from the backcourt. Tre Mann got the start and led the team with an efficient 18 points on 4-of-6 shooting from three. Collin Sexton provided an instant spark off the bench, igniting the offense with 12 first-quarter points, while LaMelo Ball looked smooth and comfortable in his 25 minutes.
Of course, the Moussa Diabaté propaganda continues, as he once again started at center and led the team with a +14 plus-minus, reinforcing the idea that the team is simply better when he is on the floor. However, the biggest point of debate is the continued struggles of Brandon Miller. Despite getting to the free-throw line, he had another rough shooting night (3-of-11) and we discuss whether it’s time to be concerned or if patience is still required as he works his way back from a long injury layoff

Love B Miller but he is looking more Khris Middleton than PG13 …. Totally agree in regards to Kon…. It’s early but Kon is slowly becoming Priority 1
Brandon and all them boys, really, should learn from Knuepple. His game is simple and fundamental. I loathe the forced floater attempts.

People act like real basketball is like 2k. It's the second preseason game. Brandon will be fine. He'll need about a month to get where he needs to be. The team has enough talent to take up the slack until he's on track.
miller sucks but the whole team sucks. lamelo had 5 turnovers in the first half . he sucks. coach sucks. owners suck. sexton is good. everyone else sucks. mann is ok and better than lamelo.

Miller's wrist injury is a unique injury for basketball players. Bradley Beal is the most recent player with this injury and it was not his shooting hand. Going to take some time imo.
Geez Walker…I like Moose but come on…he can’t shoot, he fumbles the handle, and he got mauled on some rebounds. He’s not a defensive stonewaller but he’s a tough out no doubt. He’s the best we have but just don’t make him more than he is.

Great podcast Walker and Doug 🙌🏻🏀 , I think it’s going to take time for Brandon to get back to 100% especially with his shooting efficiency. I think a couple of players suffered similar wrist injuries to what Brandon did and it took them a while to get back to full flow. I’m hopeful B Mill will be all good 😃🏀
It gets hard watching Will hardy draw up good mid range looks for ace as that plays to his strengths yet for us Charles has pretty much eliminated Brandon’s biggest strength. Also it just feels like it’s nothing but dribble pass offs, ISO’s and PnR that’s our whole offense
