If I had a nickel for every time the Raptors drafted a center in the second round just to see them suffer a career-threatening injury, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird it happened twice.
Chomche is a slight surprise – but not a big one. This just wreaks of Rich Paul interfering and another place for him in mind. He was a 2 way. It’s almost a lock Rich Paul has a spot he can get the 15th spot on the team with a regular contract. Raps have some issues with Rich’s behaviour & the only player they have with Him is Ingram – but Ingram is known to be quite hands on vs other players and he likes the assistant Agent Shy a lot whom does more of a lead role for him in particular, This lowers Paul’s influence a little though it’s still his company. Ingram’s new deal they wouldn’t have got for him as a UFA is quite short. Ingram is only guaranteed to be here this season and next. Rich Paul does Rich Paul things and he’s not good news for Toronto.
I don’t expect. Chomche to be in the 905. I do expect the others too.
CMB Isnt a centre and preseason can be fun for small ball but he’ll get destroyed in real games at that spot. Sandro is a spacing backup centre who does have some 4 in him. CMB is an undersized PF with amazing tenacity. If he gets better offensively – he’s comparable to OG. Not a centre. Now if we had drafted Maluach maybe different story – but ooops he’s also a Rich Paul player too……..

I hate the way NBA teams dump players so quickly. NHL is way better for giving kids a chance to develop.
The Raptors will regret the day if another team scoops up A. J. LAWSON OR JARED RHODEN. THEY ARE NBA PLAYERS !! KEEPING 3, 6FT POINT GUARDS , STRANGE TO ME ! MOGBO IS A NOT AN NBA PLAYER , LAWSON, AND RHODEN ARE FAR BETTER !! ATLEAST THEY KEPT BATTLE !! YOU KEPT A 6FT MARTIN OVER SARR ! !! THE TEAM IS TOO SHORT !! SARR WILL BE BETTER THAN MOGBO !! WHAT IS IT ABOUT MOGBO THAT I DON'T SEE , HE CAN'T SHOOT AND RUNS ALL OVER LIKE A CHICKEN.
Lawson didn't get a fair shot , neither did Rhoden ! I feel bad for them !
Has to be an injury thing. Chomche was a virtually no-cost prospect.

Why all the 6 footers, Martin, Hepburn, Shead . I don't get it. The Raptors are way too short once again !! Why do the Raptors do this every year ! They need height , what is wrong with them.
If anybody should have been cut it should have been Mogbo. I will never understand what people see in his game especially when you have CMB now. Mogbo is Just another guy on the list of players on this team that can’t make a shot to save his life.

I think chomche getting waived had something to do with Bobby's vision vs Masai Vision.
Tbh I liked Lawson as a GTJ microwave deep bench to shake things up. Hoping that these waived fellas make it back into 905 or land somewhere productive . Surprised Martin was kept over a forward tbh.
But the free roster spot could mean Bobby might be in the lab cooking up a trade. So fingers crossed for another big.
Hoping for a bounce back game for starting 5 next preseason game. Some flash of chemistry building would be nice to see.

Good ! whoever watched Chomche play in summer league knows he was good but he wasn't fluid in his movements , you either have it or you don't , no sense in building upon that and Lawson was nice but no sense when you have Ochai and Gradey , dude would have never gotten playing time.
Only health reasons would allow me to waive Ulrich. I just saw him working out with Ibaka. 🦖 Rhoden is nice but too many wings. 🦖

@benrogers masai or bobby or both fawked up basically signing garett temple to 3.5 million guaranteed for the year putting them into the tax. so the reality was they were not gonna fill that 15th roster spot and go even more into the tax.
ulrich chomche being cut is stupidity because what they are gonna find on the market is the usual suspects they brought in on 10 days. so if jakob poeltl busts a leg or a ligament and is out for the year, well raptors are really fawked with no center in the gleague to come in and fill up minutes.
it means scottie barnes and cmb are sharing center duties.
the real question is after a year of temple babysitting, are the players that immature still where they need a full time baby sitter for another 2-3 years?
There has to be more to the Chomche decision than we know right now, particularly considering how he had progressed in summer league. Just the other night I say a Lakers game highlight package and it included both Maluach and Koloko. If the Raptors have been looking for a future centre what are there plans exactly? Don't doubt I love CMB's potential but he isn't a centre.
Everyone whos mad rn its understandable but the front office has usually been proven right getting rid of guys JFL, Jah'Mous ramsey, DJ Carton, Koloko, Ron Harper to name a few, i wonder if they have their eyes on another player that got waived
