I couldn’t watch the game on NBA League pass bc it was on espn 😑
The fact that people look at a player and the amount they’re paid from a team and think it should applied to a similar player with a different team makes zero sense to me. Some team owners allow room for being in the tax with overpaid players and some don’t. Every case is different. Trae is my favorite player but if we are trying to build a solid team, I am with Atlanta Hawks taking time to come up with an amount that is not the max that will allow more wiggle room overall.
I thought Hawks played okay. On a side note, Trae needs to stop pouting when he doesn't get a foul call. Get his ssa back on defense his body language leads whether he likes it or not. W/O DD and JJ, this team lacks physicality and rim pressure. We can't afford any players on this team to miss significant time.
If Trae leads the team to the ECF or have some major success. That might be enough incentive for the hawks to commit to him for the remainder of his prime and I know every year is the most important year, Atlanta needs Trae to lead this team somewhere in a flat Eastern conference with probably on paper the best Hawks roster top to bottom since who knows when.

4 turnovers and -18 in the last game. He won't get a max deal if he can't do better than that.
Ìf you not worried about this performance you should be, this look exactly like last year. Man Houston look like top 3 coach team and we didn't. We look like a .500 team at best we don't look like no top 6 team.

Unfortunate, but I don't think Keaton has played well (enough) this preseason or summer league. Hawks should take a look at Brogdon.
He'll be gone by trade deadline
First the positives, then the negatives.
+ Risacher looked really good. He showed really great on ball decision making.
+ NAW looked really good as well. Pesky on defense and got to the rim at will.
+ N'Faly Dante looks like what Capela was
– Trae Young got bodied by Reed Sheppard
– The team as a whole didn't look locked in together
I'm not going to lie, I was pretty deflated by this game. I know it's just preseason, but we need to have that killer mentality all year if we're going to establish ourselves as the team we want to be.
I normally hold off criticizing Trae until like game 10 of regular season. He seems to always stumble out of the gate
