Also no way Jokic can be more valuable than someone who’s scoring more than him, more efficient than him and is his teams best defender and the leagues best 2 way player!!
MPJ is great and a world destroyer against smaller defenders. He is mainly the reason Denver went on a winning streak against the lakers as lakers has no defenders that could match him. He will be really really good in nets now he has more go aheads to shoot.
He has three issues, 1. his contract way too much for this role, which is purely scoring, as he cant do anything else 2. MPJ is exposed by large and athletic wings, see his series vs Wolves(straight up disappeared), Heat(got DNPed in game 5 and Bruce Brown closed) and Thunder (which he was injured unfortunately), 3. when his shots not falling MPJ cant contribute, he cant bend essentially due to injury and he cant play make or defend. Cam might not be as elite a sharp shooter as MPJ tbh but he is much more versatile, and if Denver is competing Cam is much much better because MPJ is a very unstable third option.
Having said that, Michael the possession ends here Porter Junior will always be a Denver legend.
Lakers in 5
Jokic is a top 15 player of all time, but Denver is making Jokic job way more difficult then it needs to be.
Jokic based upon talent alone is a top 5 player ever, but of course due not not having enough rings he could be neglected in all time talks due to well people viewing rings as the most important factor for a players legacy.
I really like the Cam Johnson move, and all the other moves they made.
I think Cam is kinda underrated and a very versatile wing, more so than MPJ… I think he is smarter and more active on both offense and defense and will be a very easy fit for the team. Hope MPJ kills it in Brooklyn, but he just failed to prove himself in his role for the Nuggets in big moments. Maybe he just needed a bigger role to shine, we shall see, I'm rooting for him.
Also love the Valancuinas move, I'm so happy he signed after a bit of drama… He is a really smart true center and I really think this is a perfect fit for both him and the Nuggets.
Love that they brought back Bruce as well, he's a great fit.
I'm a bit more skeptical on Hardaway Jr cuz he is really streaky, but I don't mind as they got him for cheap and is also a nice fit on paper, we shall see!
I really like how this team looks, I think they will build a great chemistry, and quickly. If they stay healthy, they have a real chance of winning it all imo.
Guys, pls stop acting like Cam Johnson is an upgrade over MPJ, he is not. He averaged 12 ppg on a good team, and 18 on trash team. MPJ averaged 18 on a good team, and now is going to average around 22-23 ppg on a trash team.
Both of those guys are injury prone and inconsistent.

Theoretically Denver may trade Murray, who earns almost as much as Jokic, but underdeliver for that money. May get a semi-start for the money plus 2-3 solid role players.
