ALL-TIME great performance from Victor Wembanyama, EMBARRASSING Anthony Davis in Spurs win over Mavs

Jason reacts to the epic performance from Victor Wembanyama in the San Antonio Spurs’ opening game against the Dallas Mavericks. He embarrassed Anthony Davis and proved that he is already in the NBA MVP conversation.

  1. The guy sucked hope out of the Mavs…they lost their basketball because of a single person…I.ve seen great performances but one which just removed hope? ….not that common.

It was hard to watch. It was like watching a fight but a guy is already bleeding unconscious and an another is just there continuing to kick him…at some point, you need to stop.

Cooper Flagg is a confident kid but you could see him losing his basketball slowly like he was just in shock watching that alien dominating…that was a welcome to the nba moment he will remember for sure.

  2. So if this 10’ tall dude is going to actually build muscle and have skills I am going to need to league to actually call travels please….

  3. I remember this exact hype about Zion. Wemby has been healthier than Zion so far but…. Same story with Porzingis

  4. My first time watching a whole spurs game and couldn’t believe what I watching… The league is cooked

  5. Stating that a double double game during an opener is an all-time great performance is such click bait. I thought we were better than that here lol

  6. The issues with the Spurs roster construction at the moment is their bench scoring and perimeter creation. That being said they still don't have Fox or Sochan currently and Mitch Johnson seems to be demanding a standard from the team that they are comfortable being criticized for. Even when they were up in the third quarter, once they started making noticeable mistakes Mitch started grilling them, which is the culture you expect from San Antonio. Right now they aren't tied up with money, the core looks very capable and has plenty of room to grow as the season goes on, and I can honestly see a 4-5 seed finish for them so long as they're keep up their discipline.

  7. In addition to Wemby's weightlifting, martial arts teach core movements that mimic great strength, but not usually with only tens days of practice. But Wemby's focus could be an exception. Training with Kevin Garnet and Hakeem makes for a third integrated layer. It's quite a combo!

  8. Last night Wemby was running the floor in transition and blocking shots like I remember David Robinson doing, banking in shots off the glass like he was Tim Duncan, doing the Dream Shake spin moves in the paint and crossing people over and knocking down pull-up jumpers as smoothly as KD.

Can you imagine how good Wemby can be if he ends up combining the games of those 4 HOF big men in one? Last night he gave us glimpses of what that might look like. Imagine if he actually completes that transformation.

  9. I also think he might take the matchup with Lively personally.

Their rookie debut was against each other back in 2023 and Lively seemed to outshine him more at the time. As a Luka fan who watched every Mavs game until the trade, Lively used to clamp Wemby pretty decently. Well clearly that’s over now.

  11. I think his availability will be the X factor for the Spurs for the next 15-20 years, and that’s scary. He has been groomed to be the best basketball player ever, and if he can play enough, that title is his. He’s not thick enough to be a strait line driver like LeBron or Micheal, but he does look like KD, and even some Giannis. He already is as skilled as them, he’s already demonstrating the same commitment to conditioning as Steph Curry or LeBron, and their b-ball IQ. The only question, does he have the competitive drive of Jordan? I don’t think we’ve had a situation where that would emerge, but playing bully ball against AD is kind of insane when you think about it. It’s way too early for predictions for Victor for where he is or will be on the list of greatest players ever, but if his just otherworldly length and skill prove to be as unstoppable as Prime Shaq, I think he could unify the debate about greatest center ever. That is always the hardest spot to land on for the best starting five in history in my opinion. For overall play, I say Olajuwon. There such a line: Wilt, Russell, Kareem, Shaq, Jokic. That’s 6 guys and I’m sure I missed somebody. It’s like there’s parts of all those guys in him showing already; Shaq’s force not so much, but if the end result is the same, complete dominance against anyone, that would be it. If he won 6 championships, or played in 15 finals, and got huge LeBron type stats over a 20+ career, that’s the MJ card and LBJ card, too. The odds are not in his favor leading that long, but players are extending their careers with conditioning and diet, but he’s come into the NBA already doing that. It’s mind-blowing, and the NBA is in for a new era.

  12. Hell nah, if he plays like that for 70% of the games this year, even a 6th seed is enough for him to be MVP. He looked like the most unstoppable player in the universe last night. 0 turnovers, only 30 minutes played. The box score doesn't even do it justice.

  13. How far forward are we going to allow shooters to jump and still get a landing space call? The clip going around with Lively fouling Wemby on the three by rule wasn’t a foul.

  14. We all know Wemby is amazing, but right now they're bowhere near the best teams in the west. Foc hasnt shown to have that dog in the playoffs and beside him its just castle and a bunch of nobodies.

  15. The day Wemby retires, I think the whole NBA should retire too. Basketball will be completed.
