The Raptors have a BIG problem…Darko found a temporary solution

The Raptors starting five remains a variable mystery. The head coach however, knowing his starters are completely out of his hands for contractual and political reasons did something extraordinary in game 1 – he won the 24 minutes those 5 didn’t play together to win the game.

  1. Loved the addition of the lineup data. It is very telling, and probably the most valuable information you could give us. Some lineups work some don't. The highest paid players shouldn't automatically be in the starting lineup if it hinders team performance. Players need to swallow their pride for the success of the team. I hope you make the lineup stats a regular thing until the starting lineup maximize their minutes. Ā I'm amazed that NBA Today showed some love for the Raptors for a change. In the past, even when we won against a really good team, they focused more on the other team just having a bad night as if the Raptors defence had nothing to do with it, and focused on the highlights of the the other team.

  2. I love this channel man. I simply wanted to listen to this in the background but it was too interesting šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£

  3. jak being locked up long term makes me nervouse man, i just dont think this team is unlocked fully without a outside scoring starting center.

  4. Coming from a guy with a degree in Statistics, this is an excellent video. Initially I thought it was going to be just another basketball 101 lecture which I don’t need. However, your trend analysis that shows this is a more effective team when bench players are on the floor is astute but not surprising bc the team’s strength is its zealous defence which is best played by the bench.

  5. The Raptors will have no problem as long as Scottie Barnes keeps playing like Magic Johnson 2.0. I’m sick and tired of this narrative that Scottie needs to score 30 points and jack up 10 threes a night. That’s not his game and it doesn’t need to be. This kid brings it on defense, he’s got elite vision, he plays with pace, and he makes smart reads when he’s attacking the paint. You can feel the team’s energy shift when he’s in control the ball moves, the defense locks in, and everyone eats. If he keeps trusting that all-around game, It’s a wrap!
