I wonder too if its a mind game of sorts. Like, the baller is scanning the court to read his options… and the shoes help them place where he is.
Imagine a quick scan while you're trying to pass only to realize the wemby you thought was on your right took a mile long step the moment you weren't looking and now he's blocking your shot. Normal colors you can kinda tune out, bright orange shoes pull your focus like a magnet. Subtle yet obv not.
Simultaneously good for teammates, distracting/disorienting for the competition.
Also I just love orange and esp the splash of color contrasted with black and silver.
