I totally understand why Cronin didn’t speak. We’re here to watch basketball and I don’t need a bunch of people constantly talking about non-basketball issues. I loved how the broadcast approached the game. It felt normal, like business as usual. Blazers basketball makes me happy, Chauncey Billups getting arrested makes me sad. Let’s focus on the happy.

I really enjoyed the energy last night- they are going to give a lot of these vet teams trouble with their pace. When the shots weren't falling early I was worried that all that effort would be for nought, but they eventually found the range. The passing was nice but needs some work as they adjust to the movement. Fouls could be a problem with the aggressive approach, but that too should balance out. Now let's see if they carry that same energy out on the road. Go Blazers.
I get being dissappointed in Cronin, it's your job as media to hold people to account, but i do think that it was the best for the organization to only put Splitter out there. It makes the message of "we're just here to play basketball" much louder and he's in a stronger position to decline comment on everything than Cronin would have been.

I 100% agree Mike. A leader faces the music in good times and bad times. Cronin is a coward for not facing the press and answering questions. Personally I think he's in trouble.

BIG win! Did anyone notice that Tou was the only player who played over 30 minutes (32)? Keep an eye on this. Splitter played for Popovich, who knew how to control minutes to keep everyone fresh. Pops rubbed off on Tiago. This team's gonna be alot of fun to waatch.
Why do fans and podcasters insist on speaking about things they know little about? There is an entire team of professional PR and legal staff making these decisions, and they chose not to speak on something they had nothing to add to. It's business as usual until there's something to say. Simple.
