Trying cooper at pg is fine. They don’t have many options and wanted to play ad at pf with klay and pj out there. He is 18 though and not used to that role as well as it’s not necessarily playing to his strengths currently. Ad needs to play the 5 for sometime and they need another guard or ball handler out there to really be better until Kyrie is back.

The Mav's roster, minus AD & Flagg, was built around Luka's and also Kyrie's skill sets. Injuries crushed the Mavs last year, then The Trade, then Kyrie is lost for a calendar year. Without Luka or Kyrie driving the bus for this very deep front court, the Mav's bigs and wings are directionless out there. No offensive flow, the defense suffers. They need a bus driver and a bucket getter. Last year they had two of those.
At this point in his career Flagg is not a bus driver or a reliable bucket getter.
