Amen Thompson struggled.
Warriors won by 10 and were blowing the lakers out most of the game and before you come with me that they didn’t have LeBron, If your relying on a 41 year old to win games and contend your in trouble. Also warriors have pieces not nearly as good as LeBron but still rotation players in moody and melton that didn’t play
Warriors can contend but this guy doesn’t want to admit it. If they beat Denver that will only strengthen the point
Kuminga looked great. Hopefully it continues (it won’t) and I’m not a hater but, things will still be rocky throughout the season.
Another lesson learned, reed is a G league role player on a NBA team.

Luka got in shape finally. I like Durant as a player, but he’s just a jump shooter. When those shots don’t fall, like from 3 tonight, he doesn’t give you much else offensively. No ability to post up. Rockets are in trouble again with shooting.

Rockets shooting 28% from 3 and still took OKC to 2OTs should terrify the league. Sure Sengun wont go 5/8 from 3 every night but KD also wont go 0/4 every night.
Im not too worried about Houstons shooting. It was the first game of the season. The fact that you got Amen shooting 7 3s, is a sign that hes confidence in the shot and same with the coach. Plus OKC is still a great defense. So I wouldn't quite hang my hat on them or their shooting. A double OT loss by 1 point at the end of the day. Tough way to lose but great measuring stick for the season to look back on.

Did you watch the game ? 🤣 tight game between warriors and lakers ? That game wasn’t tight at all.
Luka already looks done with the Lakers. You could tell that he is already sick of the entire team surrounding him. That guy does not want to have to drop 40+ near-triple-doubles every night just to lose 55 games.
defense wise .. rockets ain't touching spurs in that category
The OKC / Houston game saw 91 threes shot and 67 missed. OKC was 13-52 including 0-8 from Dort and 1-9 from SGA. That is absolute dogshit basketball and frankly it's hard to watch. It ended up being an entertaining game with some good stuff late but I really wish the NBA would get rid of the corner three. That would go a long way to making the game better because teams camp out a player on each corner every possession which stagnates halfcourt offenses. Nobody wants to watch a 3 point shooting contest.
Key takeaways from Rockers game. Teams like OKC, magic and hawks will be nightmare matchups for the rockets. KD behind the arc was questionable in the preseason games too. Tari looks lost but coming back from injury. Reed looked nervous. Amen 0-7, the misses were really bad but love the confidence

We learned the Lakers AND Warriors are not even close to being contenders, that was like watching tanking teams battling it out. Haha. And damn Ayton looks like same old no motor and soft as hell Ayton, guess all that hype he needed out of Portland to shine was fangirl bs as always.
Reed Sheppard looked awful. He will lead this team nowhere. Missing van fleet is an understatement. A point guard that can’t even throw an entry pass to someone spells trouble.
Shai didn’t carry by himself stop it. He hit some big shots for sure but the team as a whole was playing great at the end
The narrative at the end of last season as it pertained to Luka & the Lakers failure down the stretch never made sense to me.
According to on/off data from Basketball reference, Per 100 possesions the Lakers were:
+8.0 points with Luka on the court
-5.2 points with LeBron on the court
Those guys played a lot of minutes together too, which is naturally going to make them closer than if there weren't any overlapping minutes.
LeBron was the first player to make an all NBA team with a negative on/off number, & he was somehow 6th in MVP voting even though the Lakers were 13pts/100 possessions better with the alleged problem on the court (Luka), rather than the person who "couldn't do everything at 40 years old & just needed more help".
These numbers don't lie and everyone who watches games, esp from the TNT OT angle over the past 2 years, knows exactly how someone can still "put up historic numbers at an unthinkable age" while at the same time their team is significantly worse with them on the court can be possible: zero effort on defense & esp not in transition defense.
I swear the Thunder organization has one of the best scouts. Every draft pick hit on the money and perform to the next level
So your background on AJay Mitchell is off. He was getting regular minutes last season. He never fell out of the rotation. He got injured and missed over half the season. He was a regular part of the rotation until injury forced him to miss like 50 games.

Biggest lesson is that no one is beating OKC this year. They are just beyond stacked.

Slight correction Ajay Mitchell was a standout last year. He was getting regular minutes and looking good until he got injured, not falling out of the rotation. Great
