The New Jonathan Kuminga Changes Everything For The Warriors
We’re officially back, baby. After another long — and very eventful — offseason filled with contract negotiations and free-agent pickups, the Warriors kicked off the 2025–26 NBA regular season with a road win over the LeBron-less Lakers. The biggest standout for me was the stellar play of newly extended Jonathan Kuminga, who showed impressive poise in the Warriors’ offensive system and hit a career-high four three-pointers. Let’s break down how he made an impact across the board.

My favorite channels are back! Warriors are back!
I'm cautiously optimistic, but I do like what I'm seeing from the team.
I think Jimmy's influence will have a really positive impact upon JK's game, if he's willing to listen. Remember that Steph deep 3 to close the game was set up by JK crashing the boards and getting an extra possession.
we're back !
Great breakdown bro
hes been different since pre season, any dubs fan noticed straight away and its the Jimmy effect
🔥 analysis
welcome back
Cp3 could not unlock kuminga
But jimmy butler can!!!
All analysts said last season that couldn’t play with Jimmy…
Dinkleberg!
If JK continues this type of mindset, he'll be a great Warrior player someday. His vision is getting wider. He's like a taller and longer version of Butler. Refs aren't giving him the fouls he deserve yet but he continues this way, he'll get it sooner than later. If he sank those 2 FTs his impact would've been much bigger.
I am so happy they are figuring this out! One game at a time! GO WARRIORS!! ❤
I can admit Kuminga had a good game. And he meshed well. I’m a little worried because he seemed a lot better and more focused but where was this the past four years? And will it continue? And is this because he genuinely got better, or he realized he better shape up or he will be shipped out?
I’d like to believe the best, when he met with other teams he heard some hard feedback about what they think of him and he took that to heart and changed his mindset/game. Hopefully. I’d love to cheer for him but only time with tell
JK is legit he always had it i always blame Kerr for not knowing how to use him and wasting all this talent
JK version 2 is looking good! Hopefully, he doesn't revert back.
Love kerr but he needs to eat some edibles and let a young guy make mistakes the season is long, let's not ruin his confidence again WARRIORS!!!!!
People have often been quick to condemn Kuminga, so I’m glad to see him get some praise. Nice breakdown.
Beautiful breakdown..this is what we wanted from Kuminga..if you keep finding Steph you will find his gravity will find you open buckets..let's go warriors 🎉
He needs to be the new Wiggs. Two way Wiggs that is.
The charge he took was hilariously awkward, but I loved that he took it.
"New Kuminga"? Luka scored laid 43 on Kuminga, his primary defender. JK is only able to take baby steps. Look for us to trade him this season.
Jonny K has arrived
Well done sir
JK reminds me of a young Harrison Barnes. I remember Barnes' 2nd year when Coach Jackson tried to make him a post-up player, lots of missed fadeaways and turnovers. Then Coach Kerr installed his passing offense, and he became a 3&D rim-runner. Barnes always had great hops and "potential", became a decent defender and 3 pt shooter, never a great rebounder. They tried him on people like LeBron, but ultimately Iggy or Dray took on that role. JK will likely be a useful Barnes-like player, perhaps warranting 30k/yr, likely never a great enough ball-handler, shooter, rebounder to be All Star material.
Let's Go JK!!
