We wanted to come on and celebrate a one-and-oh start and a fifth-straight season-opening win, but a massive story has overshadowed the game. Former Hornet Terry Rozier, along with Chauncey Billups and others, has been arrested as part of a wide-ranging investigation into illegal sports betting and rigged games. We must discuss the specifics of the allegation, which stems from a March 2023 game when Rozier was a Hornet. The indictment alleges he planned to leave a game early with a “supposed injury” after tipping off a friend to bet his “unders”. We’ll also play audio from Brian Windhorst suggesting the NBA knew about this and pulled Rozier for the rest of that season. We explore what the Hornets organization likely knew at the time and why they are not implicated in any wrongdoing.

I have zero faith in the people investigating this matter. There was 34 people arrested but they only mentioned the nba players by name and didn't mention any other names especially the ones associated with the mafia.
Wonder if Charlotte disclosed that Terry was held out for a non-injury when they traded him to Miami. Would be kinda lame if they shipped him off knowing this might happen

Great podcast Walker and Doug 👍🏻, fully agree in what Doug said about being feared as well as being fun to watch. Teams/players of all sports can be fun to watch but also be feared 👍🏻. It was a great opening night performance against the Nets, hopefully we can continue to play well and show some more positive signs on this 3 game road trip 🙌🏻🏀

The real issue the Hornets will face is what they knew about this when they executed the trade to the Heat. There's already media and fans implying the Hornets had some knowledge of this before trading Terry. There's calls for the league to force the Hornets to give the first round pick back. The whole thing occurred while MJ still owned the team and there is a history of MJ 's gambling while playing the league.
The fact the FBI Director made the announcement in a news conference tells you all you need to know. It’s all about claiming the news cycle with more diversion and distraction. Somebody’s got it out for the NBA. Great questions for Coach Lee and Kon the other night Walker.
I know Doug has VJ envy, and it woulda been nice to get him. But I’m not sure what we’d do with him seriously, in this roster. He wouldn’t be getting the shots to score 36 points considering the other weapons we have. The way Kon was shooting the other night we could have easily fed him for 20+.
