This game had me getting mad that I was born in Sac
I was thinking about the Kings turnover problem and it seems like their passing is lazy and telegraphed. They played a good game overall, which was nice to see, but sometimes when they pass it is like they announce who they are passing to before the attempt the pass. When it comes to Domas, the critics are proof we can never have nice things. If everyone gave the effort in each game Domas gives, we would be a much better team. Once the critics get loud enough to chase him away in a trade, we will get back someone who will no doubt suck in comparison, and the critics can start hating all over again. The closer for the Kings is anyone on the other team, apparently. One last thing, Derozan and 4 bench players had positive +/- numbers. Call me dumb, but I don't think that should be the case. Thoughts?
We need Fox type of player back.
Demar was a great closer last year, but he has looked less lethal this year, but we gotta see what happens still early.
Should've trade Keon Ellis to the Warriors for Kuminga.
DeRozan is clearly washed, just build around Lavine and Keegan.
Sabonis looks hurt still. He looks slow on his feet and lacks his usual intensity. Hopefully he can get better soon.

People in the comments aren’t watching the same game and is just basing their make up of the roster to how they see this team and how they play. Truthfully this team looks better than how they looked after Fox was traded. They are making their shots , playing better defense, no hesitant on shots. Yes we aren’t closing the games , but it looks a lot better than the ugly basketball people make it seem
Domas has refused to learn how to use his right hand and every defender knows that side is 0 threat. It’s amazing he does as well as he does. But come crunch time he can’t get away with it.

The problem with that last 6 minutes is spacing we ran the same preset that was getting locked up for way too long. If you dont have spacing issues then the shot selection and turnovers don’t happen like that. If we not running the offense through Sabonis then he needs to get out the way and we need to spread the floor

I think you kings fans should still be optimistic,
1.) new team trying to gel together and figure it out,, yes that comes with all these close loses,, closing the game etc,,
2.) this a unique team because currently they are top 10 in Defense, so that's not the issue SURPRISINGLY,, offense is one of the worse in the league,, normally over time when teams gel that will trend up, once they figure the right lineups and log more mins with those lines ups..
3.) Sabonis is fine, yea costly TOs, but maybe still a bit hurt, I think 10-15 more games / reps this team can be very good or they can keep losing close games, and get ugly,,

Another game thrown away by some individual errors that a team with this experience cannot commit. I have the sensation that this team could easily be 4-0, but actually is 1-3. Unbelievable.
And once again, the Thunder are down two starters and we lose. Nothing about this team has given me confidence they can win. Bad rim protection, bad 3 point defense, poor offensive flow. Sabonis as best player? Yikes 😬 . Just being realistic here. Lean into the draft now. I’ve seen enough, this team is not it.
I believe that Dennis should be the one coming off of the bench. You have Westbrook knocking down multiple corner 3's. Why won't you pass the ball to him when he's wide open in the corner?
This team is not willing to fight to the death every play…okc had multiple players diving for 50/50 balls… kings had 1
the cycle goes like this:
game day —-> we lose —–> 24-hour reflection period —–> repeat
Trade sabonis if you do not run offense through him. You just lose 2/3 of his value.
On this team ellis should play like 35 mins.. but instead we play dennis and westrook.. i just cant get it.

Family! Easy…my take is that you are seeing in real time a team truly learning how to play defense which they have never been known to for! They are going to be mistakes in the process…hence turnovers and fouls! I was impressed and if we give them grace and time to build on this…IT Will WORK! I just fear that as usual we don’t get grace and start getting rid of players and coaches! I am hoping they will keep it moving forward and dodge some of these early judgements….they are on the right track considering. They beat themselves in my mind by adjusting to stopping the other team instead of trying to out score them with no defense! I give them grace and was excited to see the hard play….Sabonis doesn’t want to lose and is kicking himself. That’s how you get better and fix it fast! Let’s watch them moving forward!
Right now, we aren't a play-in team. Far from it.
We’re lying to ourselves if we think today’s game was different from the rest. Almost every game has been close games but that’s because other teams not being fully healthy or not shooting as well.
Speaking of hard working guys who we kings fans loved makes me remember Quincy Acy. Loved that guys energy and hustle.
In my opinion… I would start Russ and bring shroeder off the bench. We were actually better when Malik ran pg last year than what we seeing this year
I was at the game, great free tickets, and thought I was the reason the Kings were going to win. The Kings played great for most of the game but my Thunder came through in the end.

Matt thanks for not pulling too many punches with your commentary. No hate or disrespect to duece and mo although it’s become evident they don’t want to say things too negatively (about gameplay) because they work closely with these people. their content has gotten singsongy and cheery for myself and adult friends who listen to these pods. My point? Your pod is one of the few i listen to for kings commentary because you don’t hold punches if a player has a bad game it doesn’t make them a bad person although you will speak to their game honestly.
It’s a talent issue Matt. A CLEAR talent issue. In the NBA you need your talent to be ascending. Young talented team, that’s going to get better.
The Kings have a team full of players all getting worse over time.
