If yak still injured if we face the jazz against 3 7footer the jazz will grab 100rebounds 😅
My fear is that unless there is a dramatic improvement MLSE will hit the panic button (obviously Darko gone) but when trades happen Bobby or his replacement will be selling roster pieces for pennies on the dollar including throwing in future draft picks. If that happens it'll be Déjà vu resembling those years, when the Raptors wandering in the wilderness of mediocrity.

I think you guys nailed it. Darko is trying to force the right philosophy on the wrong players. Our perimeter players are just so awful defensively, RJ and Quickly should be embarrassed
POA issues, driving issues, center issues, rebounding issues, communication issues and rotation issues to name a few. Hell, add roster issue to the list too. There is a lot to fix here and if it is not addeess we will be getting a top 5 pick.

Raptors will not win if they don’t take the ball out IQ’s hands. He does not see the floor well, he constantly looks off Scottie and BI when they call for the ball, he prioritizes himself and RJ over the 2 best players on the team. He’s not a good floor general. No point talking about his defence, even the blind 😎 can see it doesn’t exist.
We need to find a way to get Rob Dillingham. Nice buy low player for the raptors.

P&R defence left me speechless – IQ & Shead would just turn and leave wide open the attacking PG and run behind the big setting the pick 🤯 And did you see Darko’s film breakdown on TSN? He speaks of Unpredictability on offence as a scheme… WHAT? 🤯 even the clips he was showing were poor offensive sets… I’m at lost of words
There is a silver lining raptors fans, its a strong draft with 3 franchise players in AJ DYBANTSA, BOOZER, and Peterson. so tanking this year is a good thing.
what needs to be done is, feature Ingram and try to get 2-3 picks for him. try to get a 1st for RJ. ochai will be two 2nds as an expiring. Trade gradey for a 1st if you can.
develop and draft players, keep playing IQ as the tank commander for a high pick. feature IQ and try to move him in the summer. If not let IQ be the tank commander for next 2-3 seasons as bobby does a proper rebuild.
The IQ contract is an albatross of the highest magnitude. He is a niche player that’s not suited to be a franchise lead guard. $32M for a good sixth man/spot starter is so problematic. I’d support moving Walter and Shead into the starting lineup. way more cohesion
Some positives – Ingram and Barnes look comfortable operating together in the half court. RJ has adjusted beautifully on offense. CMB is an impact player day 1 with high upside. Shead, Mamu, and Walter have looked good to me off the bench. I believe Jak will get healthy and Darko will make the necessary defensive and rotation adjustments. IQ’s approach and reality of who he is as a player is dire
Regarding the "Big Red Button," does it genuinely feel like slow improvement is completely off the table ALREADY? The contracts are high but not poison pilled; even if IQ's value or, say, an injured Jak's value is super low rn, I could see them packaging one of them with a pick and a prospect for an upgrade. It's not good process per se but it doesn't feel sensible to blow things up with so much talent and fresh contracts on the roster.
It’s a paradox- to play in transition they need to get stops including rebounds which they can’t do. In order to play their defense they need to score which they can’t do struggle to so sometimes outside of transition.

i think Poeltl regressing very clearly is the main reason we're so ass, he was supposed to be the anchor but he can't move and a back injury right before a new deal is horrible optics; IQ also sucks

Poeltl, the only real big on the team, has not been healthy at the time the schedule has given them the opponents with the best bigs in the league. The two tallest Raptors (other than Yak) are not top rebounders so the Raptors have been killed on the boards. The front office didn’t provide adequate reserve strength and Darko’s attempts to cover the deficiency haven’t been successful, but when they play teams without superstar bigs the Raptors will look a whole lot better, especially once Jakob is healthy again.
Raptors are ok. Not time to panic yet. They built their defense around Jakob and clearly he is not healthy. They will re-group. Let Jakob rest, truly rest for 1 month, then re-deploy him.
