The Toronto Raptors have come out 1-4 and when that happens, the entire focus shifts to what the dinos are NOT doing well. Hint: defense and rebounding, shot selection and execution. But there are 10 things to be mega excited about if you’re a Raptors fan, and I certainly don’t think we need to wash out the good things that are happening to focus exclusively on the bad.

I think the starting unit of IQ/RJ/Ingram/Barnes/CMB is pretty good actually. Mostly bc CMB might actually have the advantage on smaller 5s in unexpected ways. Jak off the bench. This probably settles the rotation down.

The defense is the problem. This is a very complicated scheme to execute. (That and we don't have any rim protection)

I'm a Montreal Canadiens fan and we had the same discussion at the start of last season. They were really bad at the start of the season, last in the league, as they were trying to implement a complicated scheme as well. Slowly but surely, they got better and ended up making the playoffs.
This year?
They are tied for first place in the league and are one of the most entertaining team to watch.
