Magic’s GUT CHECK Time Arrives After EMBARRASSING Loss to Detroit | Can This Team Find Itself?
The Orlando Magic have a lot of questions to ask themselves again as their defense collapsed in a crushing and embarrassing 135-116 loss to the Detroit Pistons.
Once again, the Magic struggled to keep up their defensive intensity, parading the Pistons to the line all while their offense floundered in the second half after a strong showing in the first half.
It is time for some serious soul-searching for Jamahl Mosley and his team as the Magic faltered again and let go of the rope, forsaking the identity that built the team into a juggernaut.

this lack of intelligence is becoming more and more prevalent, just dumb needless fouls and not reading the refs. This is so hard to watch, I have changed the channel for the 3rd straight game in the 4th qtr. because there is no fortitude with this years team right now.
I genuinely believe Paolo and Bane dont want to be here. Paolo and Franz are both in an awkward position in that Franz seems to play well with everyone and is possibly 1A even though he doesnt want to be. Meanwhile, Paolo is uncomfortable because he isnt playing like the number 1 guy as Mr "Shot's not falling" tbh. And it isnt just the double teams. Dude is bricking at the free throw line.
We deserve this for not giving Mac McClung his shot. Everyone talking about "He's too small" and then we draft Jase Richardson lol

This is what happens when the Head Coach decides to force players to try and be who they are not. They are grinders and structured players who respond to discipline – it's how they have thrived, even when short-handed; not fast paced athletic or frenetic players where they obviously lose their confidence and edge and ability to play defense or shoot. Time for the Head Coach to admit HIS mistake – you can't change the character and personality of a a person or team radically when they know they were better and thriving with the older style (which they know and had been led to believe only needed gradual tweaking with their new additions and return of the injured).
Wagner is the true franchise player. Magic is a weaker team when Paolo is on the court.

Yes the defense has been bad, but look across the league right now. Most all of the offenses are on a ridiculous pace and scoring is way up across the entire league. This isn’t just an isolated Orlando Magic problem this is going on for most everyone. Offensive numbers are way up and the referees are calling a lot of fouls putting shooters on the line more.
Bring Bane off the bench to balance things out. Their bench is weak.
They won the 1st game because Spotard sat Ware… and the Refs! NBA Refs throwing games as usual.

AB was a -28 and we just extended him? The Magic have a whole list of miscues and 2 vets and 2 rookies were not going to fix that. It also looks like Palo and Franz are playing against each other again instead of with each other.
The players have completely lost faith in Mosley’s new scheme, and when things go south we just fold in half

The problem here is we changed the team for Bane , but he should of found his identity on our team.
It’s pretty simple, do what we did last year and knock down the open shots KCP was not hitting.
Mosley also needs to relax with Penda minutes over JI. It blows my mind that he’s the first person off the bench when we need offense AND defense.
Bane is fine. Mosley doesn't know what to do with a good team.
