Horrible game for the spurs. Wemby get your 7ft 5in ass in the paint. Iso. They cant handle you so they double team, when that happens kick it out. Needed this punch in the jaw. Were not perfect. And to eveyone saying we need to trade fox, 🖕

Mitch needs a gameplan when it comes Wemby getting double/triple because teams have been doing it a lot lately vs 1on1 and its wearing down Vic because we have no back up big that can give him rest or shooters other than Devin hopefully fox can help with that whenever they are done giving him recovering time. now that Dylan is gonna be out for at least 4-6 weeks (my guess) we need these fresh players to come back already. Should of played them today tbh because they are gonna be rusty vs Lakers who are a better team than the Suns… cmon Mitch get it together

I hate to say it but Harper's injury as much as it sucks is going to give David Jones Garcia a chance to step up and get more minutes which could be a really good thing.

Walke dinto it expecting a blowout, only to get blown out. If they hold Fox, Jeremy and Kornet out another game, i'll laugh so hard. Harper got hurt too

i wonder which injured guys couldve played and we just had them sit down another game cause we thought we would roll pass the suns.
You know the team was playin bad when Coach Mitch has a croaky voice by the end of it having to scream at them to be more aggressive. On to the next one, as long as we beat that Lakers ass then it'll be okay. GSG.

Mitch team selection is hawful.
It should be
1st team: Victor Wembanyama, Stephon castle, Devin Vassel, Carter Bryan and Julian Champagnie then replace castle with David Jones now that harper is injured and then Champagnie with Barnes very simple but I 'm afraid until we have an experience coach other than Mitch the spurs will not go anywhere such a waste.
A lot of this loss is on Mitch and his POOR GAME PLAN FOR DOUBLE TEAMS! They're playing double teams like Vic is Duncan in 2024 and they have a bunch of shooters on the perimeter. That's not this Spurs team WAKE UP! Allso, they are doubling Vic further away from the basket then they typically did with Duncan/ Vic is not getting the ball as close to the basket as Tim did, so it's harder for him to just fight through it and make a shot. They need to play double teams more like Nikola Jokic in 2023. They need to anticipate the double team and have people in motion like Jeff Green a couple years back and Aaron Gordon now, to cut through the paint or along the bassline for a open pass and easy basket. This team doesn't have a lot of shooters but they do have players that like to finish around the rim. They can't afford to have everyone just stand around and watch Vic get smothered.
Foxs return is important, but more importantly he needs to be 100%. We are no where near close to a do or die situation. Stay the course.
Get them bums sitting on the bench with strained wrist or trade them for people not made of glass.

Everyone wanted to be a hero today, they all wanted to be the man! They did a terrible job setting up Victor, reminded me of his first 2 years!! Sochan always out and Fox still out for some reason. People get on players for load management but teams are complicit in that too! Phoenix had a great plan, we will collapse on Wemby and we confident his teammates can’t beat us. Reminds me of how Houston plays Victor! We need Fox back, enough with the trade him none sense!!
The backup BIGS are what we were missing this game! Luke, Jeremy, and Kelly sitting on the bench while practicing 5×5 just isnt making sense.

What's the problem? This serves as experience for wemby, because we see it from this perspective: Michael Jordan only won his first title after six seasons we was 27 yers old, and you want a 21-year-old kid to be perfect. Again, I say this is part of the learning curve for Wemby and the whole team.

Mitch Johnson must be the only NBA head coach who doesn't design plays for his superstars. And another thing: playing with Wembanyama brings a lot of spotlight to the team, and that has its downside; everyone thinks he's a superstar. Someone needs to remind Stephon Castle that people go to the arena and turn on the TV to see Victor Wembanyama. De'Aaron Fox needs to come back immediately.
Hakeem Olajuwon once said that the game of basketball is a simple one, just pass the ball to the big man. If the big man gets double or triple teamed, dish it out to the shooters. We don't have great outside shooters, that's the issue. Imagine if we have great 3 point shooters outside, teams will hesitate putting 3 guys on Wemby.
This team is still a yr away from serious contenders …okc is the best team in the west hands down.
Lotta people in the comments playing the blame game. Its not Mitch's fault or Castle's fault or any one person's fault. They all could have done better. You win or lose as a team. Thats the Spurs way.

Harper best player in that game. He deserves to be a starter.
Honestly, this was largely in part to being down Kornet. Still need K.O. as well, but being down Kornet essentially had us back to where we were last year, struggling with out a backup or second big that can cut or set a pick for a guard when Wemby is doubled.

I hate the fact that Vic doesn't' shoot 3's anymore, that made him such a threat last season. I fear if it continues, he will be afraid of taking them at all & will be bad at them 🫤. The fact that he is getting in the paint is great but he should still shoot 3s…

They blew their load against heat trying to make history (5-0). Not at all surprised they weren’t prepared for this game after playing and celebrating so hard. This was a good reality check for the young squad.

I believe the Spurs came in overconfident especially wemby, he's been walking around with an arrogance in a cockiness almost exuding laziness on the court and the sun's humbled him tonight. the coach didn't call timeouts when he saw momentum switching he let them play through it any backfired. also if you see the guys aren't getting it done utilize the bench.
They were doubling wemby before he would even get the pass. We need an on-ball creator who can take over when that happens. We need D fox back
